This Month in Premier Hospitality 13.8

Welcome to the latest edition of Premier Hospitality. In this month’s issue we take a look at Hotel Brooklyn Leicester; we check out See Monster; and we unveil Fairgame Canary Wharf.

Following the multi-award-winning success of Hotel Brooklyn, Manchester, the super-friendly Brooklyn brand has expanded to Leicester, opening its second property in June 2022.

Adjacent to the Welford Road Stadium, home of the famous Leicester Tigers rugby team, the new 191-room hotel managed by Bespoke Hotels, is again inspired by the New York Borough, with an industrial aesthetic, impressive atrium, and exposed brickwork.

The world’s first immersive fairground for adults, the 20,000 sq. ft Fairgame, featuring a host of classic games reinvented for the 21st century, has just opened at Canary Wharf, London.

Following four years of development, Fairgame is revolutionising the funfair, offering guests the chance to re-awaken their inner kid in a state-of-the-art, adults-only playground – for the ultimate night out. The venue was designed by A Modern Practice Ltd (A.M.P), with DDI Projects as main contractors.

A retired offshore platform from the North Sea has been transformed into one of the UK’s largest interactive public art installations. See Monster sits proudly on the shore of Weston-Super-Mare, occupying the old Tropicana Lido and dominating the horizon at 35 meters tall (15 meters taller than the Angel of the North for scale). The cleverly titled ‘See Monster’ is the biggest platform of its kind to tell a story, with the aim of inspiring global conversations about reuse, renewables and the great British weather. Commissioned by UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK and the British Government, the project brings together the full STEAM spectrum of science, technology, engineering, art and maths.

With all this and more it’s time to sit back and tuck into another helping of Premier Hospitality.
