Students fear not, the days of dank and dark accommodation are over!

Cardiff’s premier new student accommodation in Windsor place is soon set to open its doors and it promises to give students the facilities they deserve.

The investment worth £3.5million saw the demolition of an older building, then the construction and refurbishment of Summit House. The new facility is in a prime location close to the University, allowing for convenience when running late to those lectures!

Summit House offers a mix of studios and two-bedroom flats, every room is bright, modern and features all the comforts you’d expect from one of the UK’s top student residences; from elegant rooms with double beds and en-suite shower rooms, to contemporary fitted kitchens and flat-screen TVs.

In addition to providing great rooms the facility also offers high speed broadband, laundry services, a private gym, meeting rooms, in-house cinema and a common room.

There will be 79 beds on offer at Summit House, which opens to residents this month- viewings are currently taking place, so get in touch fast if you want a more stylish slice of student life.

The accommodation in Cardiff is the first of two projects undertaken for Prime Student Housing LLP, the second scheme being at Sidwell Street in Exeter. Both student housing schemes are running in tandem and are being lead by property developers London Cornwall Property Partners.

The main contractor on both sites is Opco Construction, Regional Director’s of Opco, Nigel Coulter and Bruce Macdonald have said on the projects:

“We’re delighted to be working with Prime Student Housing to deliver what will be first rate, 21st century standard accommodation for students attending and studying at the world-renowned centres of learning in the cities of Cardiff and Exeter.”

Dickson Powell Partnership, based in Clifton, Bristol were the consultants on the build. The Practice was founded in 1972 and is now led by Partners Nick Trolley, Peter Vaughan and Richard Cox.
The Practice encompasses many aspects of construction consultancy including quantity surveying, employer’s agents, project management, expert witness and CDM project safety co-coordinator.
