EDITION, the next generation lifestyle hotel brand has opened its first UK hotel.
The London EDITION, the latest from EDITION Hotels, is the new project of Ian Schrager the brand’s creative director, who returns to London for the first time in 15 years. EDITION Hotels, the brand Ian Schrager conceived in partnership with Marriott International, focuses on providing a cultural epicentre which highlights the best that each city has to offer.

Schrager and the Ian Schrager Company Design team in conjunction with interior designer Yabu Pushelberg have allowed The London EDITION to preserve the finest features of the historic building –formerly the Berners Hotel – whilst reinventing the space to create a dynamic fusion of past and present.
The creative blend of aristocratic English country manor meets London private gentleman’s club is modernised with an edgy, inner city urban feel, bringing chic to an environment enhanced by meticulous attention to detail. Behind the refined Georgian exterior, the aesthetics cleverly come together creating a spark that takes this hotel experience to a different level making it a truly unique and captivating experience.
The London EDITION provides a personal, modern and friendly environment whilst ensuring outstanding one-of-a-kind food, an array of beverages and quality entertainment is available all under one roof. Meanwhile the hotel‘s dance club provides an extraordinary theatrical experience.
Spectacular lighting has been devised by Patrick Woodroffe – a world renowned lighting specialist –whose work has graced the 2012 London Olympics and stage shows including The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga.
Other features include two bars, a 24-hour fitness facility and 173 secluded and luxurious wood panelled rooms. Features of every room, many of which have panoramic views of the city, include signature imported linens, original artwork, 46” flat screen HDTV’s with full cable access, specifically programmed ipods and ipads (available upon request) and complimentary high-speed, wireless internet access.
