Metnor Construction

The Metnor Group, based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, comprises four individual trading companies who operate in property development and investment, general building and construction, mechanical and electrical contracting services and hosing and pressure testing equipment.

The Group operates nationally via depots and offices in Maidenhead, Great Yarmouth and Aberdeen.

The property developing arm of The Metnor Group; Metnor Property Group has done exceptionally well during its first four years of existence. The property company has acquired nine sites in the last four years at a cost of over £30 million. Metnor Property Group is continuing to flourish and so far has established property in the following fields; Commercial, Hotels, Care and Education.

Metnor Property Group purchased the listed Generator Studio in 2006 before applying to extend the building which would effectively double its size. The new Grade A Generator Two was sympathetically built by Metnor Construction whilst the current tenants remained in Generator One.

Metnor Construction Ltd was established in 2002 as the construction division of Metnor Group Plc. The team delivers projects across the country offer a wide range of services including new build, refurbishment, extensions and alterations. The division also has their own in-house timber frame department which allows them to branch out from delivering traditional forms of construction.

With vast experience in all sectors of the construction industry the team have completed a portfolio of projects in the Health Care, Hotel, Commercial, Retail, Housing, Leisure, Stadia and Education sectors. In the Health Care sector the company has worked in partnership with Primary Care Trusts in order to forge strong working relationships with clients such as Ashley House and Prime UK.

Working in the hospitality and leisure industry is always an exciting prospect for Metnor Construction. Many of the firm’s clients like to mix new build and refurbishment projects in a bid to provide quirky venues and producing a seamless and sympathetic transition from the old to the new is one of the firm’s specialties.

Norstead Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is another division under The Metnor Group umbrella. The company offer Mechanical and Electrical installation services and associated maintenance support. Norstead have been established since 1971 and have undertaken works within many sectors, including Retail, Healthcare, Commercial, Education, Light Industrial, Care homes, Pharmaceutical and Telecommunications. The firm also operates a full maintenance support service available every day, all year round.

The group’s final division is Metnor Great Yarmouth, and is one of the longest established suppliers of pressure testing equipment in the UK. This arm of the group has been established since 1985 and provides services for clients all day, every day.

The division holds a vast stock of chart recorders, test gauges, test manifolds, pressure relief valves, test flanges, test hoses, gas boosters, transfer pumps, transfer hoses, thickness testers, OPS skids, pressure test pumps, injection pumps, dead weight testers and comparators. Metnor Great Yarmouth has also manufactured its own Hose Whip Check device – the Metnor button.
