Established in 2006, Colorado Group Ltd is a leading construction, development and maintenance company, specialising in the delivery of engineering and construction projects for the commercial and residential sectors.
Colorado Group Ltd is overseen by company directors Gary Gibson, Ian Bownes, David Hendren and David McGinigal, and strives to deliver a customer-focused, personal service on all its projects.
Over the past eight years Colorado Group Ltd has built up an extensive list of clients, from Scottish Water, and FujiFilm, to Network Rail, Tesco and Walkers Crisps. Projects for Colorado Group Ltd have included a number of distilleries – Glen Moray Distillery; Inchdairnie Distillery and Glen Turner Distillery – as well as Forfar Caravan Park, Cassochie House and Spire Healthcare. Additional projects have included Cambusmore House; Alloa Glass Works; and the construction of a 900m² Quaker Oats warehouse, which was awarded the Innovation & Change Site of the Year.
The new warehouse for Quaker Oats was designed and built for the purpose of storing and distributing Oats So Simple and other food products under the Quaker Oats brand. The project was completed in two stages, with the first phase focusing on the construction of the new warehouse and the second phase comprising the refurbishment of an existing building.
The new facility includes four docking bays for transport, which have helped to double the loading capacity at the site, with almost 2,000m² of new concrete installed to provide additional access roads and storage areas. To assist the growth at the Quaker Oats facility, drainage and infrastructure was extended and safety and security measures were installed.
Meanwhile, two projects currently under construction are the Kingsbarns Distillery and the Cambusmore House renovation. Both projects continue to make great progress and demonstrate the diversity of the works conducted by Colorado Group Ltd.
The Kingsbarns Distillery in Fife is being built by Colorado Group Ltd on behalf of the Wemyss family. The Kingsbarn Distillery is being constructed approximately six miles from St Andrews, close to the world-famous Kingsbarns Golf Links, and includes a visitor centre, shop and cafe.
The Cambusmore House project is a multimillion pound scheme which is seeing a country estate house renovated. Work began on the project in August 2013 and is scheduled to reach completion in August 2014.
Speaking to Premier Construction about the project, Project Manager for Cambusmore House, Charles Buchanan, said:
“The Cambusmore House Renovation project involves stripping the building back to the bare walls and insulating with wood fibre alongside numerous works on the house. There are various stages on this project, at present the roof is off and we are working hard on completing the attic. This is such a big house.
“We have encountered no major problems to date, other than anything associated with old houses. When you open buildings up you sometimes find a few challenges, but we have moved past that stage now and are working on putting everything back together. This project is very important and it’s very interesting work – just like all of the projects that we are fortunate enough to work on.”
Colorado Group Ltd believes in an open and honest approach to its work, with a team committed to solving all problems promptly to a clients’ satisfaction. Through careful planning, regular updates, and a considered approach to construction, Colorado Group Ltd continues to build upon its excellent reputation as a forward thinking company with yet more interesting projects on the horizon.
