One of the most recent works undertaken by Gilbert-Ash is a £13.8 million project to refurbish Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. The refurbishment project is being funded by the Arts Council England and Liverpool City; the Foyle Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation, The Wolfson Foundation, The Kenneth Stern Trust, The Foundation for Sport and Arts, The Granada Foundation, The Ravensdale Trust and J Paul Getty Jr Charitable Trust, as well as individual donors.

The project began in May 2014 and will see the Hall given a significant makeover, including improvements to the stage and choir performance areas, the introduction of a new performance space and the installation of new backstage facilities. The work is scheduled to reach completion in Spring 2015 and sees Gilbert-Ash team up with leading design practice Caruso St. John to complete the work.
