Premium 21st Century Hostel brand Safestay has made it a hat trick opening their third affordable accommodation premises.
The latest addition to the trio is situated in London’s Holland Park, ideally located close to some of the world’s greatest museums, as well as the iconic neighbourhoods of Notting Hill and Portobello Road.
Safestay is an award winning brand of luxury hostels offering affordable, comfortable and stylish accommodation in landmark buildings in superb city centre locations. Each hostel reflects its own individual heritage and locale, while always delivering the unique Safestay standard of quality and service.
Each hostel is set in a building of historic interest with stylish interiors courtesy of Blackbox Interiors. There’s space for socialising, bar areas, reading nooks and comfortable seating as well as a private garden and terrace. Safestay hostels are secured by 24 hour reception services, a key card system and CCTV in all of the public areas.
For the new Safestay Holland Park accommodation, Blackbox Interiors worked with the client as they have done since the first location; Safestay Elephant and Castle.
Safestay Holland Park has been developed in the Grade II Listed building, Holland House. The venue additionally uses the modern 1950s building next door.
In keeping with previous themes, Blackbox Interiors maintained a vibrant colour scheme with eclectic pieces thrown in for good measure. Marian Predovnik, founder of Blackbox Interiors said:
“The ethos of Black Box Interiors is a balance between functionality and conceptual innovations. Our inspiration is conceived within spaces that are thoughtful, fluid and always accentuate the unique characteristics of each site. We work hard to ensure the brief of the client is adhered to, whilst striving to exceed all expectations of what can be achieved within the given budget. We ensure you maximize your return on investment.
“Safestay are a contemporary brand so we always try to reflect that in our design. At Holland Park, our main job was to put the brand’s mark into a new building. We used a selection of colours including pinks and purples to fit in with the ethos of Safestay, and to create a welcoming environment for guests.”
The renovation began in September 2014, and completed in August 2015.
Safestay Holland Park has 29 dorms. Accommodation is a mixture of dorms catering for four, six, eight and larger groups. There are also private rooms available. Most rooms have en-suite bathrooms; hotel quality beds, top of the range bed linen, privacy curtains and reading lights. Under-bed locker storage comes as standard. Safestay also provide free Wi-Fi in all communal areas.
In the lounge areas, Blackbox Interiors used communal tables and seating areas. The quiet reading room contains lounge seating, a large table and USB ports for charging phones and tablets. The social room contains television, pool table, communal tables and lower level seating for a more relaxed vibe. Next to that, Safestay Holland Park has an all day restaurant and bar area, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as providing additional social space. The restaurant opens out onto the large terrace area and large garden which overlooks the historic buildings.
Working with the remaining historic features of the listed building, Blackbox Interiors created colourful hangings which are eye-catching as soon as you step into the entrance and reception areas. The pieces hang from the ceiling of the entrance hall adding a fun texture and different colours in cooperation with the pink and purple décor themes.
