Welcome to the latest edition of Premier Construction magazine.
In this month’s edition, we explore The Alchemist; we cast an eye over the Gateshead District Energy Scheme; and we take a look at Watches of Switzerland.
Adventurous and unconventional, The Alchemist has just opened in Greek Street, Leeds, bringing a touch of magic with a stylish new venue set to become the major new cocktail and dining destination in the city. Owned by Living Ventures and designed by HCM Interiors, The Alchemist is located in a transformed space previously occupied by the Prohibition bar, and primarily caters for Leeds’ extensive business community.
Meanwhile, a project to provide Tyne and Wear with a new, low carbon energy centre to generate heat and power for the surrounding area continues to make great progress. The project – implemented by Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council – started in June 2015 and will be complete and fully operational by summer 2016. Once work has reached completion, the energy centre will generate the power sources for direct sale to customers. The new centre will be operated by the Gateshead Energy Company, a public limited company.
And finally, after much anticipation, Watches of Switzerland opened its Regent Street store – Europe’s largest showroom devoted to luxury watches. Following an eight-month build, the incredible three-storey, 17,000ft² site welcomed its first customers during the summer to fantastic feedback.
Watches of Switzerland, Retail Director, Damian Otwinowski, said:
“Since it first opened for business 90 years ago, this is the most important day in the history of Watches of Switzerland. The new concept revolutionises luxury watch retail not just in London, but also around the world. Our vision is to inspire, educate and entertain our customers and to give them an unforgettable watch-buying experience. No stone has been left unturned in ensuring we deliver on that promise.”
With all this and more, join us as we explore the impressive construction projects that continue to shape our landscape.
