Hilton Bournemouth – A spectacular setting

Hilton Bournemouth

Leading global hospitality company, Hilton Worldwide, announced in December last year the opening of its most recent property in the UK, Hilton Bournemouth.  The latest addition joins 67 luxurious hotels within the Hilton portfolio across the country, including other new sites, London Bankside and the Ageas Bowl, Southampton.

Classic design and innovation are at the heart of the hotel’s design, with bespoke interiors and furnishings designed exclusively for Hilton Bournemouth by Ray Kelvin throughout. Hilton Bournemouth was developed by privately owned property company THAT Group, which owns the hotel and neighbouring Hampton by Hilton Bournemouth.

The immaculate hotel boasts an all-day restaurant, a Spa & Health Club complete with a 20m indoor pool, ballroom, meeting spaces and a dedicated Boardroom. Ideally located, amenities are within walking distance, for those who wish to venture out of the hotel.

A soaring glass structure creates the wow factor externally, initiating great first impressions before guests even step inside. Offering 172 plush bedrooms and suites, and panoramic views to the coast and across the town, this hotel is certainly one worth staying in.

“With miles of beaches and buzzing nightlife, Bournemouth was a natural fit for Hilton Hotels & Resorts to bring its brand of hospitality and continue its expansion in the UK,” said Rob Palleschi, global head, full service brands, Hilton Worldwide.

“This property incorporates cutting edge design with all the Hilton touches our guests identify with. Our collaboration with THAT Group and the opportunity to incorporate Ray Kelvin’s design expertise has created a posh getaway for travellers to create memorable experiences.”

Hilton Bournemouth features eight unique meeting spaces and one of the largest ballrooms in Bournemouth, capable of hosting more than 350 guests. The hotel’s collaboration with THAT Group led to the formation of a series of themed rooms capturing the pace, creativity and diversity of business. From typewriters emerging out of the walls to bowler hats hanging from the ceiling, each space offers something elegant yet a little quirky.

The hotel displays interiors that are as distinctive as the food, with a downstairs bar area featuring a curved, chrome-topped, tile-fronted bar surrounded by stylish chaise lounges. Playful and convivial, spoons and forks are evident in the décor from metallic wall vinyls to hand-painted decorative plates, as well as hanging domes of mismatched cutlery to a large spoon-filled framed artwork inspired by The Last Supper. A variety of seating keeps the space fresh, with small, circular, gold-gilded tables to comfy leather terracotta booths and a breakfast bar with high stools.

Schpoons & Forx, the hotel restaurant created and overseen by renowned chef Matt Tebbutt, offers guests the finest British cuisine with a contemporary twist. Produce is seasonal and sourced locally, with a selection of sharing plates on the menu alongside dishes from the tandoor and stone oven. Diners can kick off their meal with a pre-starter taster, choosing from crisp cockles, grilled Dorset rock oysters, local charcuterie and truffled cheese flatbread.

Signature starters include sautéed scallops with ham hock and broth, mustard fruits and salsa verde, tandoor roasted mackerel, chermoula marinade and beer battered monkfish scampi with smoked paprika and aioli.

42-day dry aged steaks are available from the chargrill, whilst mixed roasted fish and shellfish with garlic, parsley and vermouth comes out of the stone oven as does whole herb roasted poussin with sausage and smoked pork cassoulet.

Bournemouth’s highest bar, LEVEL8IGHT The Sky Bar, promises a memorable experience for guests, enabling visitors to indulge in specially made cocktails whilst enjoying spectacular views across the beautiful Bournemouth coastline. The expansive outdoor terrace and heated seats make this bar perfect for all seasons.

Embellished with chic chandeliers, a sweeping bar, and a striking gin wall showcasing 49 different varieties, The Sky Bar is a destination associated with elegance and style, creating a buzz around the town. That Bar Downstairs, a stylish and relaxed bar located on the ground floor of the hotel, is another ideal spot for guests to catch up with friends and family over a drink or two.

A combination of contemporary and classic cocktails with a twist has been designed by a talented team of mixologists, led by gin curator and head bartender, Jaz Arwand. Innovative must-tries include the exclusive Red Velvet Spiced Martini with Belvedere vodka, cacao, habanero chilli syrup and lime; and the Bournemouth Sour with locally produced Conker dry gin, Angostura bitters, lemon juice, egg white, Havana Club and topped with Pinot Noir.
