Mobile Mini – Building careers for young people

Mobile Mini, a leading hirer of portable accommodation and secure storage containers, is helping a local social enterprise build careers for young people after providing a much needed storage container to house vital trade materials and tools.

ToolShed, based in High Wycombe, gives young people aged 16-24, a chance to take part in an intensive 18-week construction training programme. The programme offers experience in a wide range of construction trades, teaches students how to understand and progress a winning attitude and enables them to choose their next career steps.

In order to help them reach their goals, the Aylesbury branch of Mobile Mini has provided ToolShed with a storage container completely free of charge, including transport for delivery. The container will be used as a safe and secure store for the tools and materials which are vital for the students to experience a diverse range of training and careers in construction.

Jonathan Tyrell, Aylesbury Mobile Mini Branch Manager commented:

“We’re delighted that we are able to help young people in our area to build long term careers in the construction industry and give them the tools they need to thrive on the ToolShed programme. We wish them the best of luck and every success in their new construction career paths.”

Further to the programme, young people are then supported into employment through ToolShed Works, an in-house enterprise that offers teams or individual staff for residential and commercial customers.

David Lett, Founding Director of New Meaning and ToolShed Operations Director said:

“As we didn’t have enough room to store our vital tools and equipment, Mobile Mini has helped us to grow and help more young people get ahead in the construction industry.

“The Mobile Mini container offers flexible and secure storage for the tools and materials needed for the course.  It will be a massive help to our centre and an invaluable asset to our students as they enter the world of work.”
