The Alchemist & Aether

New arrivals for London and Liverpool as The Alchemist opens in Theatre Land and Aether hits Liverpool ONE.

The Alchemist lifts the curtain

The Alchemist has opened the doors to its latest venture in St Martins Lane. The new site marks the brand’s commitment to the capital, with a third location due to open on Old Street next year.

The openings follow the success of its current Bevis Marks venue in Liverpool Street, and will see the award winning operator famed for its cocktails, bring its renowned trademark of theatre in a glass to the heart of Covent Garden.

To celebrate the launch of the Alchemist in the capitals Theatre Land, they gave away 300 of their signature serve, the Lightbulb Moment to Londoners on the opening day.

The new venue promises to provide the city with a unique drinking and dining experience, thanks to its encapsulating décor and memorable mixologists.

Simon Potts, Managing Director of The Alchemist, said:

“We are hugely excited to be bringing the brand to Covent Garden; we’re looking forward to engaging with the local theatre, bar and restaurant community and to play a part in the renowned dining and drinking destination. The capital, in many ways represents the country on a world stage, as an international destination visited by millions every year. So this opening is a significant one for The Alchemist as we continue our journey as a brand. This venture marks our commitment to London as we expand across the capital.”

 Aether

Aether

Brought to you by the team behind The Alchemist, Aether is a nod to the brand’s original roots, with a focus on cocktails and live music. Capturing the faded glamour of a bygone era choose from 21 cocktails focusing on the elements, whilst enjoying immersive performances for artists from neosoul, jazz and hip-hop genres.

Located in Liverpool ONE, at the site of the former Tavern on the Green, to enter Aether is to enter an entirely different realm, every step presenting an opulent embrace of the senses, every turn revealing a lost paradise beyond imagination.

The 1,600sq.ft, 40 cover space has been created by Nottingham based interior design agency Macaulay Sinclair and captures the glamour of the 1920s and 30s jazz era. Inside the venue is a central island bar, surrounded by plush booth seating and low hanging lights to create a dimly lit venue for guests. Outside, there is an al fresco dining area with an additional 80 covers overlooking Chavasse Park.

Focusing primarily on mixology, 21 signature cocktails are separated into four menus. Cocktails on the Earth menu include the Volcano which is made from Campari, Tanqueray and Belzazar White alongside the Bounty cocktail which is made from Jamaican Coco & Kanu.  Ice Cream Fizz is featured on the Water menu and is made from Tanqueray, Moet & Chandon Brut, Vanilla, Citrus and Lemon Gelato and sits alongside Hot Grog made from Union 55 Rum, Maple, Citrus, Amaro and Ginger.
