With many years of experience across a broad spectrum of construction related disciplines, the group provides a package of skills and services that ensures they stand out in the Channel Islands.
Since their foundation in 1947, AC Mauger Construction has continued to deliver excellence in all aspects of the building industry. The firm was originally known as Mauger & Treussard, founder members being Mr A C Mauger and Mr F Treussard who commenced trading in 1947. The company was reformed in 1962 and became A C Mauger & Son Ltd.
In 1982 The Style Group acquired AC Mauger & Son Ltd and the group has continued to develop even further up until this present day. Today, AC Mauger Construction is able to take on projects of all sizes within any element of the industry and have a proven track record throughout the island.
The company recently completed work on a new Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo showroom which was part of the redevelopment of the Jacksons garage site. Located in Jersey, the project consisted of a new high specification showroom, new office space and an extension to the existing workshop to facilitate additional working space and car ramps.
For the project, Chris Kent acted as Contracts Director for AC Mauger, alongside Site Manager Mark Keeney.
Speaking to Premier Construction: Channel Islands Focus, Chris Kent, said: “The new look showroom design is being rolled out across Jaguar Land Rover’s entire global network and the Jacksons showroom will reflect the new Jaguar Land Rover corporate identity, which puts the customer at the heart of the retail experience with innovative architecture and timeless and contemporary design.
“The building was constructed using a steel frame and is clad with glazed curtain walling and insulated cladding. Internally the building is fitted out with JLR specific tiles, furniture and equipment. A dedicated car “handover bay” in all black with specialist lighting was constructed to showcase the cars before handover to the clients.”
Work on the project began in March 2017 and was completed at the end of September 2018.
“The new Jaguar Land Rover showroom was a particularly interesting project for AC Mauger as the contract included all of the installation of the luxurious materials in the fit-out and the creation of high-end furniture and finishes,” added Chris.
“The showroom was finished to an incredibly high specification to create an immersive space for customers to view vehicles in an environment that reflects the core values of both the Jaguar and Land Rover brands.
“The new showroom prominently features elements of glass, walnut textured finishes and sophisticated lighting to give the space a fresh and luxurious feel.
“The showroom has electric charging points both internally and externally around the building for electric car models, emphasising Jaguar Land Rover’s intent to encourage the presence of EV models at this new facility.”
This was a repeat client for AC Mauger, who has a long standing relationship with Jacksons having previously constructed their BMW/Mercedes and Porsche showrooms, as well as sharing working space with them when their headquarters were located on the same site at Rue Fondon.
Chris concluded: “AC Mauger are proud to have been involved in this stylish and exciting project which allowed the team to showcase their ability to create a first class structure to the highest standard.”
