Two Fifty One
Two Fifty One Southwalk Bridge Road, situated in the heart of Southwalk, is a stunning 41 storey residential tower with fabulous views over London. Two Fifty One includes a ‘Get Connected’ lounge, a resident’s only gymnasium, a club room with dining facilities and a screening room.
The main contractor on the project is Laing O’Rourke, who has worked alongside architects Allies & Morrison Urban Practitioners. The interiors in the apartments of Two Fifty One have been created by multi-award-winning developer, Oakmayne, who are renowned for their innovation, commitment to quality and attention to detail. The development is set to complete at the end of December 2018.
Speaking to Premier Construction magazine about the development, Managing Director of South Central Management, Jeremy Sutton said: “All of our projects are bespoke but there is always a similarity when you work for someone like Barkley homes. Lots of things are repeated but what we tend do is unusual and different to give each site a unique factor.”
The residential tower at Two Fifty One is accessed through the stunning ground floor reception area, which is staffed at all times by a 24-hour concierge. Behind the concierge is the ground floor ‘Get Connected’ business and leisure hub. To the west of the residential tower is a residents’ landscaped garden linking to the neighbouring eight-storey commercial building, which houses a café on the ground floor.
The surrounding environment has been landscaped with trees, pedestrian areas and public spaces. Growing on the entire eastern vertical façade of the commercial building is a ‘living wall,’ comprising of a cascade of trailing plants and shrubs.
Jeremy added: “This is a popular building because we are pretty much 100% sold and there is a waiting list to buy and rent the apartments. Because our specifications are slightly better than others in the area, we tend to get chosen over other sites.
“This project is huge for us because this is probably the biggest and most visible project we have ever built. We are only a small company so to be delivering a project of this size and for it is be so well received in the area is something we are very proud of.”
The apartments at Two Fifty One have been split into three categories.
The Under Thirties
The Under Thirties are located between floors 10 and 30, consisting of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. The apartments at Two Fifty One have been created to effortlessly combine contemporary style, beautiful materials and bespoke finishes.
