Clayton Hotel Charlemont
Dublin’s newest hotel, Clayton Hotel Charlemont, has opened its doors on the banks of Dublin’s iconic Grand Canal.
The unique hotel project included the restoration of three 18th century Georgian buildings – 35, 36 and 37 Charlemont Street and has been carefully designed to marry modern architecture with historic Dublin. The site seamlessly integrates the classical features of the Georgian buildings with a new 4-storey building, with transition from old to new showcased in a stunning lobby space.
The brand new 4 star luxury hotel, which is owned and operated by Dalata Hotel Group, took approximately 24 months and a €40 million investment to complete. The opening of the hotel has created 100 jobs.
At Clayton Hotel, the Georgian Buildings are steeped in history and homage is paid to the history and heritage of Charlemont Street throughout.
Housed within the Clayton Hotel Charlemont are 189 stylishly designed bedrooms, a fitness suite, six fully equipped meeting rooms and two brand new dining concepts – Gaudens Restaurant and Lockside Bar/Social. Located on the ground floor of the four star hotel, both new dining experiences are set to be fantastic additions to Dublin’s culinary scene.
Gaudens Restaurant, named after the famed sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, born in Number 35 Charlemont Street, offers guests and visitors a stylish restaurant option with spectacular views of the iconic Grand Canal. The menu and design at Gaudens Restaurant include nods to Saint-Gaudens throughout.
At Lockside Bar/Social, Dubliners and visitors to the capital can be truly sociable in a comfortable setting, while overlooking the Grand Canal.
All dining options at the Clayton Hotel Charlemont are expertly prepared by head chef Anil Roy and his talented team.
The lobby will serve Red Bean Roastery Coffee, a signature blend of coffee prepared by expert baristas, exclusive to hotels within the Dalata Group. Fans of Red Bean Roastery Coffee will be excited to learn that a stand-alone Red Bean Roastery Coffee Shop is set to open next door to the Clayton Hotel Charlemont in early 2019.
Lynn Cawley, General Manager at Clayton Hotel Charlemont said: “We are excited to finally welcome guests and visitors to our brand-new hotel located right where the city meets the canal. We recognised the importance of maintaining the luxury hotel experience of which guests at Clayton Hotels will be familiar, but also saw the opportunity in Clayton Hotel Charlemont to pleasantly surprise our guests with the character and heritage of the hotel’s Georgian buildings and the history contained within them.”
