Burger & Beyond

Popular brand Burger & Beyond has moved into a permanent site for the very first time. Located on Shoreditch High Street, the restaurant will feature signature buns as well as an expanded menu.

In keeping with current Burger & Beyond residences at KERB, Street Feast and Camden Assembly, the brand’s burgers and sides, honed after three and a half years in the business, will take centre stage. Drinking snacks and small plates will show the team’s creative side, alongside a list of crafted cocktails and drinks.

Burger & Beyond Directors Craig Povoas and Tom Stock commented:

“We are thrilled to be opening our first restaurant in Shoreditch, the location is perfect and the design brings our vision to life. The restaurant will showcase a different side to Burger & Beyond whilst staying true to the foundations of our brand, something that is not always possible within the constraints of the street food market.”

The design of the exciting new venture has been overseen by London-based design consultancy Run For The Hills. The design concept comes from Tom and Craig’s preference of clean lines and linear lighting, which is fused with a feeling of openness and softness throughout the ground floor. A lot of emphasis has also been placed on using modern black and raw steel materials such as stone, vintage bricks and lime wash paint to give a warmer, cosier take on the typical East London restaurant. A huge concrete bar sits next to leather and canvas cushioned banquettes, also grounded with concrete bases – a style that continues down to the basement floor where snug cushioned caves glow from within via red neon lighting and monochromatic geometric tiling.

Burger & Beyond fans will be excited to hear of new additions on the burger list including Fried Hot Fish (crispy line cuagh cod, Nashville hot sauce, kaffir lime herb mayo, crunch slaw and pickles) and Krispie Fired Chicken (Rice Krispie fried chicken, miso maple butter and ranch pickle slaw). Craig draws inspiration from his travels all over the world to create his show-stopper burgers, which regularly appear on London’s best burger lists.

Diners can also choose from a selection of drinking snacks such as Chicken skin and Bread with bone marrow butter, and a range of small plates including shaved rib cap with anchovy butter; deep fried lamb nuggets with a burnt onion dip; and mushrooms, cured egg yolk with lardo on toast.

Sides are by no means an after-thought with new additions such as fries, bone marrow gravy and cheese; and truffle tots. A concise dessert offering will also be available with a choice of a couple of sweets including deep fried blueberry pie and clotted cream ice cream.
