EL&N Lowndes Street, Belgravia
The brand EL&N London might only be known by word of mouth, or passed on from screen to screen. The Instagram famous brand is a chain of London based cafés, with 6 locations.
It isn’t only their digital fame and Instagram worthy decors that make EL&N so popular; they have an extensive and unique coffee menu, serve adventurous desserts, as well as brunch and lunch.
Founded in August 2017 by Alexander Miller, the brand first opened its doors on Park Lane, in Mayfair. Now 18 months later, five more sites have opened across the capital.
The newest site is on Lowndes Street, in Belgravia. The site is spread across two floors with EL&Ns’ floral caves filled with emojis and feathers. EL&N pink letters made up of individual flowers dress the front of the store with additional outside seating, getting ready for sunny summer brunches. All day breakfasts are served at the Lowndes site, until 11pm. The menu also includes their extensive range of cakes all hand crafted by the in house pastry chef.
EL&N want to standout and their cafes are each a little piece of wonderland. They’re very aware of social media and so with the décor and the delicious coffee and food they offer, they attract influencers, bloggers, and vloggers and of course a crowd who know and love the brand, and people just discovering it. The design in the Belgravia site combines these elements as well as EL&N’s boldness and the attraction it draws on social media.
In more detail, the interior is made up of pinks, marbles and floral walls. On either side of the downstairs floor sit elegant marble tables and lush dark green booths- the only green in the space- fit around them. More central are the elegant tables and a unique marble counter, but flanked by soft pink chairs with gold frames. The serving area rests atop more of these marble counters that contrast with perfectly photogenic table arrangements, but that only adds to EL&N’s boldness in using materials and designs that are one of a kind and create a unique experience for the customers they receive.
Lastly, but the centrepieces and certainly the most Instagram worthy seats in the Belgravia are the two floral and feathered booths. Covered from floor to ceiling in pink flowers, delicate hanging bulbs and heart and flower shapes, the booths also include a neon phrase at their centre; ‘ I love you a latte’ and ‘you’re the sweetest’.
Nestled on the ceilings of these booths are mirrors that reflect into the tables, the perfect selfie spot.
EL&N stands for Eat, Live and Nourish. The menu is made up of equally standout pieces as the décor, from their velvet, black magic, blue sapphire lattes to filled croissants. Not forgetting their extensive delicate and indulgent cake list, featuring the rose macaron, summer memories, pumpkin vegan coconut cake, and the white chocolate and raspberry brownie.
The Belgravia site is open from 7.30am-11pm everyday, and the closest station is Knightsbridge. To find out more about their other venues and menus, visit: http://elancafe.co.uk/
