Earlier this year, Wedding Venue specialists Country House Weddings opened their doors to a brand-new wedding venue, Holmewood Hall, located in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
Holmewood Hall presents a host of ornate and historical features including an 18 carat gold leaf ceiling, as well as 10 acres of sweeping grounds and 16 luxury bedrooms.
The Tudor-style mansion is yet another wedding venue to be renovated with the assistance of interior designer and soft furnishing specialists Calico Interiors, who designed many of the rooms, including the Renaissance bridal suite and the parents of the bride’s room.
Calico Interiors, whose roots are laid in Gloucestershire, aimed for a luxurious scheme that reflected the manor’s grandeur and elegance. They selected premium fabrics and wallpapers from brands such as Osborne & Little, Nina Campbell and Lewis & Wood.
This is not the first time that the interior design firm has worked with Country House Weddings, as they also renovated Clearwell Castle and St Audries, the latter revealed in 2018. For this project, the work was completed in two phases to ensure that their high standards and client’s expectations were met.
They selected the furniture and wallpaper for the rooms, as well as creating the soft furnishings. The Renaissance Bridal suite, which comes with a dressing room and en-suite, reflects the grandeur of the manor. Its colour scheme channels The Gold Room, where the ceremonies take place, meaning that the suite was adorned with golden furnishings and touches of white. Swags and tails were added for a traditional feel, plus a beaded trim, creating an opulent finish.
The Lady Lake suite, designed for the parents of the bride, has a contrasting colour scheme that features light pinks and greens, adhering to the Tudor-like style of the mansion. Lady Elizabeth, the twin room, was similarly designed but allowed more natural influences to sweep in via the feature wallpaper that features delicate trees printed on to the material.
Marketing Director of Country House Weddings, Nick Bramer, said: “This is a great step forward for the company, ensuring that an even greater majority of engaged couples that live in the South of England will be living within a stones’ throw of one of our beautiful venues.
“Furthermore, while being a fledgling venue, it will be able to draw upon the substantial resources, reputation and more than 25 years of experience that Country House Weddings can offer, allowing it to create perfect weddings from the off.”
Sales director Laura Styles commented: “This is an extremely exciting step in the evolution of Country House Weddings. It opens up a completely new calendar allowing us to offer dream weddings to an entirely new collection of couples.”
Holmewood Hall is now open for bookings and viewings, where you can gain valuable insight into the luxury of this venue. You can make an entrance with the 50ft aisle and feed up to 85 guests in the beautiful dining room. And Calico have made sure that the bride and her family can finish the night in style with elegant yet comforting accommodation.
