The Shipyard

The Shipyard at St Helier Harbour, a joint venture between Casual Dining Group and Ports of Jersey, is a new destination pub at Elizabeth Terminalis that officially opened its doors in early July. The Shipyard is set to boost the local community and Elizabeth Terminalis.

After months of renovations, overseen by local company Regal Construction Limited, and the interiors designed by Focus Design Ltd, the opening brings with it up to fifty hospitality related jobs for the local community, who will all benefit from CDG’s extensive expertise and industry-leading training and development programmes.

Guests can enjoy a range of classic British pub dishes throughout the day and into the evening, such as a traditional full breakfast, hand-stretched pizzas, gourmet burgers and rotisserie chicken, alongside a great selection of vegan and vegetarian options, as well as sweet treats.

A specially curated drinks menu is also available, including a large selection of local and well-known branded ales and lagers served as well as cocktails, wines and champagne by the glass.

In addition,  the venue’s nautical themed play area provides something to keep the children entertained during the day, while TV screens showing live sport, and a stage providing live entertainment, (ranging from comedy to music) guarantees something for all customers to enjoy.

The venue has a capacity of 250 people and is available to book for semi-private functions and parties. Mark Nelson, Managing Director of Concessions and Franchising, Casual Dining Group, said:

“We’re delighted to officially open The Shipyard to the local community and are immensely excited to be able to welcome a range of customers, including local residents and their families, visiting yachtsmen and of course, sea passengers, all enjoying the revitalised facilities.

“Training and development are fundamental cornerstones of our business, and we’re very much looking forward to working with employees from the local area to share our knowledge and passion for the hospitality industry.

“When creating The Shipyard, we were determined to create a unique space that would be equally appealing to people using the ferry, as well as those wanting to watch live sport with a pint or parents meeting midweek for a coffee.”

On behalf of Ports of Jersey, Chief Commercial Officer, Jonathan Crick said:

“We acknowledge that the creation of this exciting new eatery at the Elizabeth Terminal in St Helier has been a long time coming and we have been faced with some pretty challenging times over the years. However, now is the time to draw a line in the sand and look forward to what will be a fantastic catering and refreshment offering with a wide appeal to both locals and visitors. Casual Dining Group has worked hard in delivering this new eating experience and Ports of Jersey is delighted to be working alongside them and wish them every future deserved success.”
