This Month in Premier Construction 27.9

Welcome to the latest edition of Premier Construction.

In this month’s issue we take a look at The International School of Debrecen; we check out Futurebuild and we explore The Sport Ireland Indoor Arena.

The architectural concept of the International School of Debrecen was based on the form of a circle. This simple, yet symbolic shape traditionally means protection, union and community while it softly blends into the neighbouring Natura 2000 protected forest area.
Speaking to PREMIER CONSTRUCTION MAGAZINE about the project, Peter Bordas, from BORD Architects said: “The aim of the project was to create a multi-educational, international IB school where 500 children can learn from kindergarten to primary and secondary school. The school intends to tutor intelligent and innovative children who are accountable for themselves and their environment and are motivated in being successful in these aspects.”

Recent climate change demonstrations and government declarations make one thing clear; we must all come together to take action against the climate change challenges we are facing. Put simply, without collaboration, we will fail.
Against this backdrop, Futurebuild 2020 (03–05 March, ExCeL London) will inspire visitors to join fellow industry leaders and innovators to be the catalyst for change that is so urgently needed to help deliver a more sustainable built environment.

Shortlisted for a 2020 Irish Construction Excellence (ICE) Award in the ‘Specialist or Specialist Services Contract,’ The Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena is a new flagship facility at the National Sports Campus. This fully accessible, multi-sport and multi-purpose arena in Dublin is the newest of its kind in Europe.
The facility will enable over 20 different sports to access world-class training and competition facilities, and will help drive the development of Irish sport into the future.

With all this and more, join us as we explore the impressive construction projects that continue to shape our landscape.
