Dear readers,
Welcome to the first Premier Construction magazine of 2013. In this month’s issue, we offer up another great selection of construction projects which are currently cropping up in the UK and overseas, including two new state-of-the-art stores for Burberry; a new Sumatran tiger enclosure at ZSL London Zoo; and The Message Enterprise Centre in Greater Manchester. Keen to keep the brand at the forefront of the fashion world, Burberry has recently pressed forward on developing two stores in the UK. One of the stores – Regent Street – has benefitted from a significant restoration, whilst the second site is a state-of-the-art store in Knightsbridge. Burberry Regent Street opened in September 2012, meanwhile Burberry Knightsbridge opened in October 2012.
Meanwhile, Tiger Territory is a new enclosure currently under construction for the Zoological Society of London (ZSL). Tiger Territory will be five times the size of the zoo’s current tiger enclosure and will provide ZSL London Zoo with a central hub where it can continue its important conservation work
Work began on the project in September 2012. Once work is complete on the 2,500 sq m (27,000 sq ft) enclosure, Tiger Territory will provide millions of visitors with the chance to get close to the critically endangered Sumatran tigers.
And finally, based in Greater Manchester, The Message Trust is an award-winning Christian charity working to improve the lives of people in the surrounding area and beyond. The Message Enterprise
Centre was created through the refurbishment and transformation of an unused site situated next door to The Message Trust’s headquarters in Sharston, Manchester.
