Commencing in July last year, the multimillion pound construction of two new Honda and Hyundai dealerships in Cheshire Oaks are now well underway.
Worth around £6.2million the two new car showrooms mark a major investment in the Cheshire area and will help turn Cheshire Oaks into an important regional motor-retail destination.
Cheshire Oaks already boasts one of the largest designer outlets in the UK, employing several hundred people. This latest development, expected to create around 60 new jobs, only further illustrates the economic vibrancy of the area.
Family-owned business TG Holdcroft is building the new showrooms which are a consolidation of the Chester and Wirral territories for Honda and Hyundai.
The North West based company Williams Tarr Group have been appointed to construct the dealerships. The company was founded almost 100 years ago and provides a comprehensive quality construction and property development service through its three divisions.
Mountford Pigott Partnership are the architects on the new build, the partnership has managed to unite the sometimes opposing aspirations of two car manufacturers and those of the retailer to create a harmonious development. The dealerships surpass the highest most standards in energy efficiency and motor-retail design.
Mountford Pigott’s expertise in dealership design and planning resulted in successful negotiations with the local authority on some very key planning policies.
Speaking about the development, Chris Greenhall, franchise director for Holdcroft Honda, said:
“We’re really excited to be expanding into the area. The consolidation means we can offer brand new, state-of-the-art facilities and boost the local economy by bringing business to the area and by offering additional skilled employment opportunities.”
Holdcroft Group brings the promise of up to 60 new jobs, a turnover in excess of £200m, and 50 years of experience.
Mr Greenhall added:
“This move highlights the group’s commitment to invest within the Cheshire area and the Honda franchise.
“The Holdcroft Group has Honda dealerships already established in Crewe and Stoke on Trent. Our Hoole Road site, Chester Honda, will continue to deliver all the needs for our Honda customers until the opening of our new site very early next year.”
Snapshot: The Holdcroft Group
The Holdcroft Group has steadily grown into what it is today, implementing new ideas along the way and fine tuning the traditional.
Like most family businesses, the Holdcroft Group developed from modest beginnings. In 1966, Terry Holdcroft opened the first business in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. It was, and still is, renowned for a warm, friendly and personal service, with an emphasis on customer satisfaction and outstanding value for money.
Holdcroft became an immediate success and continued its development by opening dealerships throughout the Midlands selling the leading franchised marques. As the company expanded, its growth continued to be structured on a total dedication to quality motor vehicles, and customer service.
The Holdcroft Group is now firmly established as one of the largest motor vehicle retailing groups in the UK but continues to appreciate the importance of a continued personal relationship with their customers. The company recognised from an early stage that only a satisfied clientele would continue to ensure the future growth and success of all the areas of leading family business.
From its humble beginnings in the mid 1960s, the Holdcroft Group has now grown and diversified into a substantial organisation representing, across North Staffordshire and Cheshire, many of the world’s largest manufacturers. A comparable number of quality used car outlets are represented within the group.
Vehicle sales are far from the only activity within the Holdcroft Group; recent years have seen the development of several associated operations. A specialised body and paint centre and franchised service centres and a strong on-line Vehicle Sales and Parts presence, all help to guarantee the Holdcroft Group stay at the forefront of the ever-changing, fiercely competitive motor industry. With an ongoing expansion program, the Holdcroft Group is looking forward to providing high standards of customer service to an even wider community.
However, this is not to say that the group will ever take for granted the community from which it has grown. Continued investment within the Stoke-on-Trent area reflects the group’s commitment to its historical roots.
