MOD Awards £250 million to construction firms

MOD awards money

The Ministry of Defence have awarded £250 million worth of construction projects in the East Midlands and Eastern England to five companies.

The contracts have been awarded for the Regional Capital Work’s Framework East Midlands and East England.
The framework will provide an ongoing pipeline of design and construction one-off projects for the MOD in the region.
Shepherd Construction has been named as one of five companies appointed for the design and build projects which span from Lincolnshire to Essex.
The Framework has been awarded by The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and will provide much needed business for local construction contractors. The MOD will utilise the chosen five contractors to carry out developments in the region over an initial four-year period.
Peter Bates commented: “We are delighted to have been appointed to the Framework. The MOD provided considerable growth for Shepherd throughout its formative years. Our return to the core defence market has been concluded this week with confirmation that we have been selected for the first of the MOD regional frameworks to conclude its procurement process.”
The Regional Capital Works Framework for the East Midlands and Eastern England will operate alongside the National Capital Works Framework which will be used for projects worth up to £50 million.
