With a delicious offering of freshly prepared dim sum, Ping Pong provides a mouth watering dining experience at an affordable price.

Ping Pong has sites in London as well as a number of restaurants internationally and its latest offering – Ping Pong Wembley – opened in December 2013 in the prestigious London Designer Outlet.

The 5,500 sq ft, 220-cover restaurant includes a bar, dim sum counter and private dining room and is the first site to open as part of Ping Pong’s scheme to rebrand its restaurants. In addition, the restaurant also includes an external seating area capable of catering for 30 diners.

Speaking to Premier Hospitality about the new restaurant and the launch of the new branding scheme, Ping Pong Group Operations Manager, Marion Carpentier, said:

“One of the biggest differences with this new Ping Pong restaurant is the fact that it marks the first of our rebranded sites. The restaurant includes a mix of materials and textures, from concrete walls and a metal frame through to a good use of colour; presenting a strong design.

“Traditionally our restaurants were dark, so a big focus of this new branding was to introduce more colour and warmth into our sites, whilst retaining what makes our restaurants unique. Moving forward we will open new restaurants using this design, whilst we rebrand some of our existing restaurants.”

Work began on Ping Pong Wembley in October 2013, with Rocket Interiors as the main contractor and Andy Martin Architects providing all architectural services. Despite a quick turnaround time, the work ran smoothly on the project, with the project team encountering no major problems.

Ping Pong Wembley is located on the first floor of London Designer Outlet and joins a number of high profile restaurants which have recently opened at the centre, including Las Iguanas, Pizza Express and Cabana.

With such a great location, the opening of this restaurant was a very important step in the development of Ping Pong, as Marion explained:

“In terms of the opening of this restaurant, it is key really. We have been listening to our customers’ feedback for the last three years and the result is the new Ping Pong design. We can’t please everyone, but we are confident that we will achieve a good response.”

Marion added:

“We will open our second new branded restaurant in Westfield Stratford in March 2014 so it is a very exciting time for us right now.”

Ping Pong launched in 2005, taking the traditional Chinese concept and developing it into a modern and contemporary design. The brand has sites in Soho and Southbank in the UK, as well as restaurants in India, the Middle East and the USA and has become known for its delicious dim sum.

All of the food on the Ping Pong menu is freshly prepared, and in keeping with traditional methods of cooking, the dim sum is served in a steam basket. Dishes include spicy chicken dumpling; chicken and cashew nut dumpling; honey glazed spare ribs; and chilli pork tender loin.

Seasonal specials are available including xiaolongbao and honey roasted chicken puff, alongside a selection of nibbles and sauces, soups, and baked and rice dishes. Desserts are also on offer, including mango pudding; coconut mochi; and a selection of seasonal ice creams.
