The Berkeley Group builds homes and neighbourhoods, focusing on creating impressive, awe-inspiring schemes.
The group is publicly-owned, with the majority of its sites featuring in London and the South of England and ensures sustainability at the heart of all its work.
The group comprises four autonomous companies – St George, St James, Berkeley and St Edward – and maintains a business strategy called Vision2020, which ensures the group focuses on four key areas: operations, homes, places and customers. Vision2020 has helped the Berkeley Group become one of Britain’s most successful and sustainable companies and an award winning company too.
Recent awards for the group include Best Property Company of the Year at the Estate Gazette Awards 2013; NextGeneration Benchmark 2013; and Housebuilder of the Year at the What House? Awards 2013. Additional awards have been achieved in The Sunday Times British Homes Awards; the UK Property Awards; and the Evening Standard New Homes Awards.
A recent project for Berkeley Homes is Goodman’s Fields, a truly unique mixed use seven acre development in the heart of London. The site comprises six slender towers which are arranged around a central main Piazza, and is located in Zone 1 of the city, within walking distance of the centre.
The area around Goodman’s Fields is also home to some of the world’s leading multi-national companies, world-class schools and universities and some of the most fashionable neighbourhoods, including Whitechapel, Shoreditch, Old Street and Hoxton.
The five-star development is home to Meranti House; a 20 storey tower comprising 107 studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments and one duplex penthouse with views overlooking the City and towards Canary Wharf. The apartment’s interiors have been designed to create a flexible and modern environment, ideal for both relaxing and entertaining.
The emphasis at Goodman’s Fields is on luxury hotel-style living which is visible in the design of each apartment. They all feature elegant and ergonomically designed fully-fitted kitchens, oak timber floors, under floor heating and comfort cooling in selected apartments.
The site’s gardens have been adorned with public art and water features. Three new urban squares will be created alongside a central piazza with new high-end shops, restaurants, bars and cafés as well as a state of the art hotel for residents to enjoy.
Piers Clanford, Managing Director at Berkeley Homes Ltd, said:
“We continue to see high levels of demand from city professionals working within the local area. Buyers are attracted to the area’s close proximity to the city and some of the capital’s most desirable neighbourhoods as well as the new level of residential living and facilities which is being introduced. The arrival of Crossrail in 2018 is enticing homeowners and investors and will make it a popular destination for rental tenants.”
