Dear readers,

Welcome to the latest edition of Premier Hospitality.

Amongst a plethora of features this month we take a look at The Boathouse Pub and Kitchen and we catch up with the latest openings from the Upham Group. Located in Appley Bridge, Wigan, The Boathouse Pub and Kitchen is a fantastic new eating and drinking venue from Langtree Pub & Kitchens. Serving the finest locally-sourced seasonal produce and a fantastic selection of drinks, The Boathouse replaces The Water’s Edge and opened its doors in September. The grand opening of The Boathouse was attended by the Mayor of Wigan Borough, Councillor Phyllis Cullen and since opening the feedback for the venue has been very impressive.

Discussing the new venue, Grant Ainsworth, Co-Owner of The Boathouse, said:

“The Boathouse offers guests a casual, relaxed dining experience that has a strong focus on British food, with the occasional French twist. A premium selection of wines, showcasing more than 30 different varieties; cask ales and speciality craft

beer are also available. Meanwhile, main courses range from traditional pub classics such as Cumberland sausage and mash to fine-dining Chateaubriand steak providing an option for everyone and every occasion.”

Based in the south of England, the Upham Group is the fastest growing new pub and brewery company in the UK. The company’s new Upham Brewery was launched in the heart of the South Downs in May 2013 and supplies over 250 stockists – including leading hotels and pubs and local Co-op and Majestic stores – with staple ales as well as seasonal special ales. In addition to its brewery, the Upham Group owns an increasing number of pubs and inns across Hampshire, Sussex, Berkshire and Wiltshire. All of the group’s sites have benefitted from restoration and improvement works at some point and this has helped Upham Group to showcase their individual charm and distinctive character, as the establishment believes that keeping their pubs varied and exciting is key.

The most recently opened pub to join the group’s portfolio is The Wheelwright’s Arms at Havant, whilst other venues include The White Heart in South Harting near Petersfield and The Rockingham Arms, located on the edge of the New Forest

at West Wellow.

With all this and more, sit back and tuck in to another helping of Premier Hospitality.

Enjoy!

Alex
