Shaylor Group

Operating across the UK, the Shaylor Group is a family-owned regional contractor with offices in the Midlands, London and the Southwest.

The Group specialises in design, construction and maintenance, with divisions that operate with the customer and their goals at the forefront of each project.

The Shaylor Group is split into three distinctive divisions: Shaylor Build, Shaylor Repair & Maintain and Shaylor Interiors. Each division focuses on a specific area of the industry, however collectively the divisions cover sectors including education, heritage, leisure, retail, housing, industrial and commercial schemes, justice and custodial, health, retirement and transport.

A forthcoming project for the Shaylor Group is the £1 million refurbishment of the JSAC building at HMP Drake Hall. As the main contractor on the project the Shaylor Group is spearheading a scheme to provide an open capacity space for female prisoners, comprising 25 beds and two visitor suites for overnight visits. A visitor centre facility to serve the main prison is also being created.

The Shaylor Group will be working alongside architectural design practice Pinnegar Hayward Design, on the HMP Drake Hall project, as well as structural engineers Copeland Wedge Associates Limited and sustainability consultants Halligan Associates. ABI Contracts (UK) Ltd is the interior fit our contractor on the project, as well as the ceiling and wall finishing contractor. ABI Contracts (UK) Ltd specialises in high quality refurbishments and has more than 50 years’ experience in the construction industry.

Past projects for the Shaylor Group include the Sir Paul and Lady Ruddock Performing Arts Centre, Shrewsbury School Boathouse, Warwick Boat Club, Ricoh Arena, British Transport Police Headquarters and the Paddington Station kitchen refurbishment project. Meanwhile, working in the industrial and commercial sector, the Shaylor Group has delivered the Bank House refurbishment, the Cobra Engineering Centre and the Western Power Depots conversion.

It is in the industrial and commercial sector where the Shaylor Group has continued its long standing working relationships with a number of blue chip clients, including the Royal Bank of Scotland, DTZ and Calthorpe Estates.
