Currently the firm is one of the UK’s largest independent property development companies, with over 10,000 customers and more than 70 industry awards for design and quality.
The firm specialises in commercial and residential property design and development and has done for over two decades. Creating award-winning homes and working environments throughout the UK is something the team is passionate about. The firm undertake every aspect of the development process themselves, from land buying and planning, to design, build and sales.
Since their inception Dandara have worked on a range of projects including centre apartment schemes, residential housing, bespoke luxury dwellings, commercial properties and high quality office accommodation for clients such as Credit Suisse, HSBC and Lloyds.
The firm designed and constructed HSBC’s HQ in Jersey. The build provided a total of 54,600 square feet of office space across eight storey’s and forms part of the prestigious Century Buildings.
Another project which forms part of Dandara’s extensive portfolio is the multi use development in Manchester city centre. The firm constructed Spectrum, which comprises a mixture of studio, one and two bedroom apartments, office and retail space and has won Best Apartment Manchester Evening News Residential Property Awards, Best Starter Home What House? Awards and Green Apple Environment Award.
Dandara also constructed gh2o in Glasgow which features a combination of contemporary residential apartments and commercial accommodation. Located a stone’s throw from Glasgow’s fashionable West End, gh2o has received numerous awards for architecture and design including Best Development and Best Apartment UK Residential Property Awards, Waterside Development of the Year Scottish Home Awards.
Other projects the firm has worked on include Governors Hill, Douglas Head, Manx Telecom HQ and Majestic Apartments in Isle of Man, as well as the Lock in Manchester. 13-14 Esplanade, West Park and L’Hermitatge Gardens in jersey also form part of the firm’s portfolio as does Deeside Court in Chester.
The firm feels their success lies with their ability to acquire land in the right locations. The land buying team undertakes extensive research to source sites, which allow them to meet market demands and deliver affordable, quality developments.
A main board director is involved in every land transaction Dandara undertake allowing the firm to respond quickly when they spot an opportunity. The firm also considers more complex sites, opportunities with short or medium-term development potential and partnerships with landowners, local authorities and other public sector bodies.
Sites of particular interest include Brownfield land, garages, old hotels, builder’s merchants, yards, car parks, institutional buildings, redundant factory, warehouse and office premises, as well as large and dated residential dwellings.
