Pride in the Job is the only UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building.

It has been instrumental in driving up the quality of new homes for 35 years.

Thousands of site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety. A Pride in the Job Award is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive.

A Pride in the Job Award represents success for the site manager, his team and associated trades, as well providing a reputational boost for the building company. Most importantly, homeowners who buy a Pride in the Job award-winning home benefit from a high quality product.

Two site managers who have recently received the prestigious awards are Barratt and David Wilson Homes Site Managers, Neil Pendlebury and Steven Sharp. Neil is the Site Manager on the Horizons development whilst Steven is the Senior Site Manager on Pembridge Park – both in Auckley, Doncaster.

For Neil this is his second Pride in the Job Award, whilst for Steven this is his third Pride in the Job Award – a fantastic achievement for both Site Managers.

Neil said:

“It’s very important to me to win these awards and it is definitely a team effort. Horizons is a good site to work on, we’ve encountered no major problems and it’s running very well.”

Steven said:

“This is the third year in a row that I have received an NHBC Pride in the Job Award and it is great. But accolades aside, it’s just as much an award for the lads on site as it is an award for me. It really is a team effort.”

Proving popular among first time buyers, couples and families, Horizons offers luxury living at an affordable price, with spacious new houses designed to the highest specifications. The development, which will be made up of 97 homes when complete, includes a variety of two, three and four bedroom family homes, perfect for those wanting to lay down roots or move up the property ladder.

The Horizons development is being built from traditional materials of brick and block, with uPVC windows and steel doors. Each house offers a traditional layout, whilst remaining spacious with an abundance of natural light.

To date 36 dwellings have been constructed on the Horizons development, with the remaining properties scheduled to reach completion within the next two years.

Pembridge Park, meanwhile, comprises 73 houses, which includes a mix of three, four and five bedroom properties. Each plot includes front and back gardens, with some properties benefitting from side gardens.
