Russells Construction

Founded in 1997 by Andrew and Gareth Russell, Russells Construction is a family-owned business which employs more than 70 members of staff and several hundred subcontractors and suppliers.

Based in the North West, the company works across a range of sectors, offering design consultancy and construction services to clients.

Russells Construction began their construction journey focusing on external projects and industrial property, and has since moved on to commercial office space, logistics, retail and leisure schemes. The team has gained expertise in the construction of high rise developments on constrained city centre sites and has built up a reputation as an excellent contractor, delivering some truly stunning developments.

Russells Construction works across a number of sectors including commercial, industrial, office, retail and leisure, and residential developments.  The team has the capabilities required to assist clients in land negotiations – often acquiring sites as part of comprehensive design and build contracts – and takes great pride in the high level of client satisfaction that it has achieved.

The company has a vast array of clients including Peel Holdings, Manchester City Council, Royal London Asset Management, Harry Ramsden and Air Atlanta. Additional clients include Rok, Longs of Leeds and the Driving Standards Agency.

Past projects have included Morrisons in Ordsall, Aldi in Heywood and Holiday Inn Express in Manchester. Meanwhile, in the heritage sector Russells Construction has been involved with projects such 76 King Street in Manchester and Park Inn by Radisson in Glasgow.

Russells Construction take their Corporate Responsibility Role very seriously as they believe it is important for all companies to connect with their local community. Russells Construction believes that Corporate Social Responsibility isn’t simply about money; it’s about sharing skills and expertise, spreading the site safety and environmental awareness messages, and playing its part when it comes to supporting local charities.

The firm offers design, installation and project management of structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical services and has expanded over the years in order to diversify its offering to customers. One such example is Russell Homes, the company’s residential development division.

Russell Homes is an award-winning independent house builder developing bespoke residential schemes across the North West. The division have built an extensive and varied portfolio throughout the Greater Manchester area and have broadened their geographic reach into North Wales, Yorkshire and beyond.

Formed in 2004 the property developer has a series of small, select developments across Cheshire and Lancashire, including The Miltons in Cheadle, Village Green in Wigan, The Fells in Tyldesley, Pembroke House, Wilmslow, Waters Edge Mews in Middlewich and Lockside Mill in Todmorden. The residential property arm of the firm aims to provide buyers with the best experience possible, as well as giving them a beautiful home at the end of the scheme.

Building properties in a sustainable manner is at the forefront of Russell’s agenda as sustainability is now extremely popular with  clients demanding that their projects are completed to a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’ or above. The firm provides options and solutions for clients in line with the ever-evolving requirements and legislation. The environmental impact of a building is tracked from initial concept through to completion and on into everyday use. Lessening the environmental impact of a building can involve replacing raw, natural materials with recycled content, reducing energy use and pollution during construction and ensuring waste is minimised and recycled.

Russells Construction have pledged to take account of the following factors as part of the process; the amount of waste generated in construction; the amount of water used by the completed structure; the procurement of materials from sustainable sources; and the amount of CO2 emitted by the building once complete.
