This type of door has grown in popularity in recent years as more architects and homeowners opt for designs that offer a more seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces.

AB Glass already provides a range of high quality, custom made aluminium products that are manufactured to order at its purpose-built premises. Now in is 25th year and with numerous sustainable awards to its name, its aluminium products are virtually maintenance free and built to last.

Alan Brayley, Managing Director of AB Glass, said: “Aluminium is the alpha material for modern day living and products are highly resistant to corrosion with a life span measured in decades rather than years. The natural strength that aluminium has increases the amount of light coming in, due to its slim lines meaning there is less frame around the glass.

“Our unique systems and designs combine a modern contemporary feel and a quality product which can be fitted into most living spaces.”

Aluminium products are becoming increasingly popular across the UK. It is one of the easiest metals to recycle and many companies are adopting it because it also helps reduce CO2 emissions.

The metal is a lightweight, high strength material now used in virtually every facet of the modern construction industry from windows and doors in homes to curtain walling on the tallest sky scrapers.

It is easy to handle which reduces the environmental impact including cost for transportation. It is incredibly formable and can be bent or shaped into innumerable designs. These properties mean that aluminium provides architects with endless design possibilities.

Aluminium is also very durable and highly resistant to corrosion caused by modern industrial pollutants and requires very little, long term maintenance. No more condensation on the inside of the aluminium as the material has a built-in thermal break / barrier which will stop any cold bridging.
