Hitex International Launches New High Speed Fixative For Road Studs

Hitex International, a leading global provider of road safety and surfacing solutions, has announced the immediate availability of StudTex, a new thermoplastic road stud adhesion system that will speed up the installation of bituminous road stud products.

 

Developed in partnership with L&R Roadlines, StudTex is the most technologically advanced solution of its kind.  It comprises a thermoplastic polymer modified bitumen blend binder with graded fillers for improved adhesion compared with traditional bitumen-based systems.  The system is also more environmentally friendly as the packaging is meltable, which eliminates the messy and time consuming task of stripping down paper sacks and reduces onsite waste.

 

Suitable for milled stud application, StudTex does not suffer from the workability problems experienced with bitumen-based products when stored and used at high ambient temperatures.

 

Hitex International’s new thermoplastic road stud adhesion system has successfully completed extensive road trials with contracting crews. 

According to David Bigg, Contracts Manager at Hi-Way Services, one of the UK’s leading providers of road marking services:  “StudTex is faster to install because it is supplied in a powder format and melts quicker using less gas or diesel to heat.  The material is also easy to handle as it simply pours in to be agitated without having to break up blocks of bitumen with a hammer or chopper.  This new product is not only cost effective but also enables our road crews to be even more productive.
