The recently refreshed Diptyque Pop-Up shop at BOXPARK Shoreditch takes shoppers on a fragrance adventure from the Far East to the Mediterranean Coast for the latest ‘Les Voyages Travel’ collection. The aircraft chef d’oeuvre has been blissfully designed by Diptyque, who worked with Elemental Design to bring the production to life – after working for the French fragrance brand twice in the past.

The shipping-container-turned store has been transformed into the interior of a vintage aircraft to complete their travel-inspired experience. The store features a CNC cut, 3-D riveted panel resembling the interior of an antiquated plane, set with vacuum-formed windows which have been back-lit to show passing shoppers a delightful array of exotic scenes that reflect the inspiration for the scents themselves.

The aircraft was manufactured by expert joiners, sprayers and sculptors in Elemental Design’s Brixton-based workshop, and the installation into the confined space was handled by the Install team, who configured how to smoothly mount the wall-spanning construction. The persistent features within the store weren’t forgotten about, either. The cash desks and existing plinths were given a makeover and transformed into retro travel luggage, with art-worked Vinyl and tan leather handles. The final touch to the pop-up shop was a blue sky scene to complete the décor.

In the past, Elemental Design has helped to design two stores for Dyptique, including a beautiful hung flower display that covers the majority of the ceiling, dropping down to complement their fragrance collection, the display took three days to create and install.

Elemental Design has generated captivating visual environments for 25 years, working with numerous major brands including Harrods, L’Oréal, Louis Vuitton, VeuveClicquot and Giorgio Armani. By forming the most seductive surroundings in which to present merchandise Elemental Design have an exceptional track record of dynamically growing sales, from apparel to fragrance; jewellery to champagne. Based in Brixton, Central London, the company work closely with local raw material providers to guarantee they have complete visibility and control over the components they use.

Premier Retail caught up with Ebony Atakorah of Elemental  Design to find out what they thought of the project.  She said:

“We thoroughly enjoyed working with this brand once again. They always create truly stunning schemes which are a lot of fun for our production team to bring to life.”

BOXPARK Shoreditch is a pop-up mall based in the heart of East London. The mall opened in 2011 by founder and CEO Roger Wade. Original in its design, BOXPARK is constructed of stripped and refitted chipping containers – with the aim of creating unique, low cost, low risk pop-up stores. The stores are booming with a range of fashion and lifestyle brands, galleries, cafes and restaurants – placing local and global brands side-by-side.

‘BOXPARK is not some run-of-the-mall shopping centre. It’s a living, fertile community of brands packed with talent, innovation and attitude that puts creativity and fashion back where they belong: on the street.’
