First Four Seasons ski resort in Europe is set to open this winter

François Arrighi has been named General Manager of the new Four Seasons Hotel Megève.  Opening in time for the 2017/18 ski season, the all-new hotel will be the company’s third in France, and its fifth mountain destination.

“Introducing the first  Four Seasons  mountain experience in Europe is a milestone for us, and there’s no better person to lead this unique project than François Arrighi,” says Simon Casson, President, Hotel Operations – Europe, Middle East and Africa   “His recent tenure in one of our most lauded hotels, along with his deeply relevant experience in French and Swiss hospitality, have well prepared this consummate hotelier for such an exciting opportunity.”

Arrighi arrives in Megève from  Four Seasons  Hotel George V, Paris, where as Hotel Manager he was responsible for day-to-day operations and was also closely involved in the wildly successful launch of two new Michelin-starred restaurants. Before joining  Four Seasons , he spent several years in the French Alpine ski resort of Courchevel following positions in Paris, Geneva and the French Riviera.

In preparing for his new role, Arrighi has spent time in several of  Four Seasons  mountain resort destinations in North America, including Vail, Jackson Hole and Whistler.

“Each  Four Seasons  is different, reflecting its community and culture, and importantly, catering to the very special needs of its guests,” says Arrighi. “I was intrigued to discover the many thoughtful services and amenities that Four Seasons offers skiers and year-round guests, and inspired to interpret the experience in Europe.”

Indeed, Megève is also a fantastic summer destination with great hiking and golf, and a wide range of other outdoor activities.

Reflecting on the well-established French ski culture, Arrighi adds, “I believe that with our unique approach to creating a customised holiday for our guests,  Four Seasons  will take après-ski life to new heights in Megève.”
