The hotel management company supports the charity’s dedication to rewarding deserving individuals who have gone above and beyond whilst volunteering for charities throughout the UK with a short break, by utilising unsold hotel rooms.
Room to Reward is an organisation committed to providing hotel stays to staff members and volunteers of the charity sector, through its national charity partnerships. Individuals are nominated to receive a ‘thank you’ stay at a partner hotel, to recognise and reward their exceptional work for charity. With 180 hotel partners and 130 charity partners, Room to Reward has donated over £122,000 of hotel stays to over 260 ‘Hidden Heroes’.
Andy’s appointment as ambassador will encompass ongoing support for the charity’s initiatives, promotion of the programme, and imparting unbiased advice and knowledge to assist in the development of the charity’s profile and business goals. In addition, the role for Andy strives to further strengthen the Legacy Hotels goal to work closely with Room to Reward and its purpose.
Adam Terpening, charity director welcomed Legacy Hotels & Resorts saying, “Andy Townsend has been a fantastic, long-term supporter of Room to Reward and we are delighted to now be able to include him in our ambassador programme. Room to Reward is completely dependent on the generosity of our industry partners, so when an individual with the number and range of properties – and industry reputation – of Andy Townsend goes ‘all in’ it really makes a difference in terms of what we are able to offer the Hidden Heroes.”
Legacy Hotels & Resorts CEO Andy Townsend commented, “I am delighted to be increasing our support of Room to Reward. It’s a fantastic way for the hotel industry to give something back to our communities and I am proud to be part of it. I look forward to working closely with the Room to Reward team and driving the initiative forward.”
