Fifth Floor Bar

The newly refurbished Fifth Floor Bar at Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge has opened its doors, complete with a redesign and a revamped drinks and cocktail list.

The renovation took three weeks to complete and the new design concept offers customers a space to relax in a sophisticated setting. Inspired by rich earthy tones and muted shades of pink and grey, the new Fifth Floor Bar has been transformed into a tranquil space. The metallic, soft suede and raw steel furnishings adds a modern touch to the refurbished Bar, while retaining the timelessness atmosphere found throughout the rest of the store.

Harvey Nichols worked closely with Keane Clarkson, one of the UK’s leading interior design agencies, to create the space. Speaking to Premier Hospitality, Shaun Clarkson commented:

“The banquette seating is an undulating burnt orange shape, which runs completely round the room. A mural on the ceiling also acts as a guide through the space. They are the two main, big features. We’ve used a Christian Lacroix carpet and then because it’s quite a feminine, pink colour we’ve used hues of copper, marble and wood.”

“Harvey Nichols is a lovely brand to work with and we have a very good synergy. They trust me, which is very nice, and there was no toing and froing. My company is now specialising in a lot more experiential work. We’re trying to look at engraining brands through the design but also creating journeys for people. This is part of a journey where we’re going to try and integrate retail into food and beverage.”

Noble Russell has produced bespoke furniture for Shaun Clarkson on numerous high-profile restaurants and bars over many years; Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor bar is their latest collaboration. Noble Russell was commissioned by Shaun Clarkson to create nineteen bespoke oak tables in various configurations. Each has polished copper edging and a central marble insert. The finished tables complement Shaun Clarkson’s clever interior design for the glamorous refurbished bar.

To embrace the brands heritage of Champagne, cocktails, glamour and fun, Harvey Nichols Bar Manager, Sophie Bratt, has curated a selection of classic, non-alcoholic and London-inspired cocktails, English Garden Margarita and Bucks Palace Back Yard, to champion seasonal ingredients and the finest selection of premium alcohols from all over the world.

An exclusive Champagne Flight has been created to celebrate the launch of the Knightsbridge Bar that offers three of our finest Champagnes; Moët Brut Imperial, Moët Rose and Dom Perignon. The drinks list also sees an update with new wines and craft beers added to the menu, alongside a selection of bar snacks and light bites.

Weekly and private Cocktail Masterclasses run by the skilled bar team will teach fun and informative classes of the art of mixology.

Simon Youden, General Manager at Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge, said:

“We are thrilled to open the doors to our Fifth Floor Bar in our flagship store. Following the closure of the bar back in June, we have been working tirelessly to ensure the highest standards of work went into the refurbishment. In a world where everything is a click away, the future of luxury retail is about elevating the overall in-store experience. We believe we have created just that – a beautiful destination that offers a tranquil setting for our customers to enjoy.”
