Cricklade House Hotel Launches New Bar and Restaurant
On Thursday 29th November 2018, an event was held to celebrate the launch of the new bar and restaurant at Cricklade House Hotel, a sure Hotel by Best Western. Over 120 attendees enjoyed an evening of great drinks, delicious food and entertainment from local singer/songwriter Dakota Simpson.
The guest list consisted of prominent businesses from Boeing and NFU Mutual to New College Swindon as well as local dignitaries including County Councillor Bob Jones, High Bailiff of Cricklade Court Lee Clive Smith and guest of honour Dr Aman Puri, Birmingham-based Counsel General of India.
James Hemming, Operations Director for Cricklade House Hotel said: “It was a pleasure to welcome local business leaders and distinguished guests to celebrate the launch of the hotel’s new bar and restaurant; we are particularly thankful to Dr Puri for officially opening the bar.
“The bar and restaurant refurbishment marks the first milestone in the reincarnation of Cricklade House Hotel, which will see around£1.5m invested in order to take the hotel to the 4-star market and provide a location in which local residents can be proud of.
“We have been delighted to forge a partnership with the Cotswolds Distillery and in turn introduce their products as house pours, delightful cocktails compiled by Head of Mixology Oliver Morris and flavoured coffees to a completely refurbished bar, featuring more than 100 whiskies and over 50 gins. In addition, spring will see the launch of the Cotswolds Gin Terrace.”
As part of the event, guests were able to sample the hotels new Tapas menu as well as staple dishes from the Restaurant menu. Later in the evening, samples of the hotel’s new Festive Afternoon tea were enjoyed.
The Counsel General accompanied by Prof. Nat Puri CBE, founder of The Purico Group and owners of Cricklade House Hotel, cut a ribbon to mark the official launch of the bar.
Cricklade House Hotel’s bar, restaurant, whiskey and gin selection, tapas menu and festive afternoon tea are all now available.
Cricklade House Hotel
Set in 36 acres of Wiltshire countryside and on the South-East tip of the Cotswolds, Cricklade house Hotel offers the perfect location in which to visit Oxford, Bath, Bristol, Stonehenge and the Cotswolds Villages of Bourton on the Water, Tetbury and Burford.
The hotel features 45 bedrooms, many with stunning views across the Wiltshire countryside to the North Wessex Downs some 15 mile away. Many of the bedrooms have undergone a refurbishment with the balance being scheduled for early 2019.
In addition to the newly refurbished bar, which features 100+ whiskies and 50+ gins plus Kirin Ichiban on draught, and the newly refurbished restaurant, which has been opened up to take greater advantage of the picture windows and views, the hotel has an indoor swimming pool steam room, gym, billiard room, outdoor tennis court and 9-hole golf course.
Membership is available for the golf course and leisure club, while a number of public events planned for 2019 are aimed at introducing local residents to the major improvements.

The refurbishment work at the hotel was undertaken by Farrell and Company. They are a multi-discipline architectural and interior design practice that has been in operation for 30 years. The company’s expertise is firmly based in responding to client needs within the constraints of the site, council planning, policy and budget.
The company was formed by Martin Farrell after many years of designing hotels in the UK and overseas. Since then he has been responsible for a range of prestigious hotel projects and private residences from Cornwall to London and Scotland. He has also designed for clients in Vienna, Menorca and Moscow.
