Engineering, design and consultancy company Ramboll has announced the appointment of Philippa Spence as UK Managing Principal of its Environment & Health (E&H) business, effective from 1 March 2019. Philippa joins from ERM, where she was a Senior Partner and had the role of leading both Partner performance and the evolution of core services for the Northern Europe Business Unit.
Having worked with a wide range of clients from the financial services, mining, energy and infrastructure sectors for over 20 years, Philippa is a recognised industry expert in delivering complex environmental and social projects and advising on environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy and implementation.
Philippa’s role heads up the 265-strong E&H team in the UK, replacing Matt Davies who has taken up a new role supporting Ramboll’s global Impact Assessment Spearhead.
Philippa has particular expertise in sustainable finance, having formerly held the position of Global Head of Sustainable Finance for ERM. In this role, she worked closely with development and commercial banks, export credit agencies and private equity firms to manage their ESG risks and opportunities and maximise the positive impact of investment.
Philippa also brings with her extensive experience in the energy and mining sectors, with past clients including BP, Shell, Rio Tinto, Anglo American and Glencore.
