The Club Room is circular and holds a stage, and has a capacity of up to 240 audience members alongside DJ facilities. It is a traditional and atmospheric spot to catch these live performances of music and comedy.

  • (It is also available to hire for weddings.)

Stella Roberts of Concorde Design, who were the designers working on the building said:

“Three Cheers Pubs Co. wanted the Bedford to be iconic as it had been in its time. As it stood though, it was an unloved building when they came to it. They wanted to create a club, a live music venue, a pub restaurant- they wanted it to be a destination venue. We started the design process December 2016 working towards an opening date of late 2018. It began at Battersea Library when I was in search of the original 1930’s plans of The Bedford, interested to know how the building had evolved over the years. We restored the original layout, opening up walls that had been infilled, reviving the grand staircase to its former glory and retaining existing tiles to bar aprons that now follow the new bars that have been built in the same position as they once did.”

Each of The Bedford’s 15 new stunning en-suite bedrooms are uniquely designed. All rooms include super-king, king or twin Hypnos beds, Egyptian cotton linen, a smart HD TV, free WiFi, en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, Nespresso machine, black-out blinds, mini-fridge and safe as standard. Guests receive a complimentary in-room breakfast during the week can enjoy breakfast in the Saloon Bar from 8.30am on Saturday and Sunday. All guests receive 50% off food in the Saloon Bar throughout their stay.

Stella continued:

“The challenges were putting all these new services in, whilst preserving the building as it’s a listed one. But despite this it was an amazing project to work on. All these different rooms-you’ve got your bar, and your food which is basically the pub on the ground floor, and then a rounder room to work with which is the club room with great acoustics. On the upper floors we had a cocktail bar to work with- a different style of bar, and the ballroom with another bar in, so in total we created five bars altogether. It was a really refreshing project. Every element of it was different, and every element was challenging, it was great to be a part of.”

There’s an extensive and well thought out menu for the restaurant in The Bedford, including; Dinner, brunch and breakfast, kids, Sundays, pizza, pudding and individual alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks menus. All of which are served from the Main Pub, the Saloon Bar and the Club Room, giving plenty of choice and availability- especially for guests staying for more than one night.

If the charm this sophisticated multipurpose venue holds isn’t enough, Three Cheers Pubs Co. also donate a portion of their Profits to the Kivuli Trust- which pays for the running costs of two boarding houses for 68 children at Gilgil primary school in Kenya. They are also proud servers of Belu water, who donate their proceeds to the charity Water Aid.
