Proud winner of an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award 2019 in the North East category – in his first appointment as a fully-fledged site manager – is Bellway Homes’ Joe Topping, who, together with his team takes the honours for the company’s Jubilee Park development in Pannal, Harrogate.
28 year old Joe said: “This is my first appointment as a site manager and I was very proud to win the award, together with my team. It is great to be recognised for all our hard work. My construction director was also very pleased.”
He added that maintaining consistent high standards and good communication on site were key to winning – combined with having the backing of excellent operatives and first class teamwork. Health and safety, site tidiness and a reliable, good workforce producing high quality work were also important factors.
“I just guided the team – they actually did all the work, and to a very high standard.” added Joe.
He continued that considering the awards involve marking 16,000 sites in England, Scotland and Wales and that there are only 400 winners, he felt privileged to have achieved such recognition.
