Tessuti Harlow
Based in The Water Gardens Shopping Centre, Harlow, Tessuti hosts brands such as Parajumpers, Barbour, Polo Ralph Lauren, Emporio Armani, Hugo Boss and Tommy Hilfiger and is the destination for the finest men and woman’s designer clothing. Open from Monday to Saturday (9:00-18:00) and Sunday (10:30-16:30), the store was fitted out by Gray and Sons.
PREMIER RETAIL spoke to Lee Gray about his involvement with the store:
How did you get involved with the project?
“We got involved through previous successful projects with the JD Group. We received the invitation to tender and were successful with winning the project.”
Was there a brief?
“The original brief for the fit out was for the existing shell within the shopping centre, completely stripping it back to a white box and fitting out to the Tessuti Urban spec. It entailed polished concrete plaster, a specialist polished concrete floor, with various fixtures and fittings along with wall bays. The fitting rooms are to a very high standard to accommodate the customer – it’s a fairly big store!
Were there any challenges?
“With it being a live fully functioning shopping centre, it was challenging fitting out a store there.”
How long did the work take?
“It’s open now and the works took 8-9 weeks from start to completion – it was a fast fit out.”
Have you worked with Tessuti before?
“We have worked with Tessuti before with this being our second project with the brand. It was massively important to be involved with this site. It opened a door for us to work with JD on higher end schemes and it was hugely important that it went right and was done to the correct standard. We have had positive feedback and have won a further project with them. We’ve developed a good relationship with them and further projects in the pipe line.
