Iconic restaurant and bar will offer customers photographic cocktails thanks to its innovative new technology

 Manchester’s highest restaurant has added six new drinks to its bar menu.

After months of experimenting, the popular bar and restaurant 20 Stories has refined its drinks menu to shake up the current cocktails and bring an exciting, new experience to the Manchester bar scene.

Headed up by bartender David Stanley, the team has drawn upon seasonal ingredients for the main inspiration behind the new menu.

David Stanley, Senior Bartender at 20 Stories said; “Using seasonal ingredients is very important, as the quality of the products we use to create these drinks is the foundation of what ends up in the glass in front of the customer.”

New cocktails to look out for on the menu include the ‘Nicolas Sage’, which David describes as ‘savoury, strange and new, intriguing with a touch of fruit.’

Another standout is the Cream & Green, which David says has changed the way he thinks about cocktails: “It was born from some very simple flavour pairings and ideas, such as Hendricks with cucumber and black pepper, cucumber with sour cream and sour cream with lemon,” said David. “However, the end result is pretty special.”

Non-alcoholic drinks that will feature on the new menu include the ‘Snowconut’ and ‘Black Cherry Collins’, which also use local, seasonal ingredients.

The innovative new menu has seen David push the boundaries of mixology, as he says: “Just in these 6 drinks we are utilising a lot of new and old techniques, including fortification, fermentation, carbonation, and more.”

A new printing machine will become a part of 20 Stories’ arsenal of menu development tools, as customers will be able to taste the variety of edible images printed on their drink. The picture-perfect cocktails will epitomise the stunning views of Manchester provided by 20 Stories and undoubtedly bring the perfect photo opportunities to customers.

Bar Manager Stuart Mclachlan said: “If we can imagine it, we can do it” with David further commenting “the new machinery is full colour printing and can produce up to A4 size, which is more than enough for our purposes. The only limitation is that we can only print in 2D. Perhaps one day, we’ll be able to break into that tricky third dimension of printing!”

Over the last 10 weeks, 20 Stories have averaged a staggering 3,101 cocktails per week – and they aim to increase this number with these new bar menu additions.
