Contractor Novus has been appointed to deliver a £1.23m project for the Humpty Dumpty Day Nursery in Lichfield.

The works will see the firm construct a two-storey extension which includes a new extended kitchen and carry out internal refurbishments alongside drainage and utility services over a 36-week period.

Humpty Dumpty Day Nursery is based in Lichfield and is one of the city’s longest established private children’s day nurseries. The state-of-the-art premises provide full day care for children from six-weeks-old to school age.

Dean Povey, Operations Manager at Novus, said: “We’ve built up the necessary expertise and experience to carry out projects of this type in the education sector over the past few years, but we also recognise the need for the work to be completed on time and cause as little disruption as possible to children and staff.

“This project will help ensure the nursery can continue to provide outstanding education facilities for Lichfield’s future generations.”

Philip Siddell, Director at Humpty Dumpty Day Nursery, said: “We have been at the forefront of childcare provision for the past 32 years and this project will significantly enhance our capacity and capability, ensuring we stay at the cutting edge of early years education well into the future.

“Right from the start Novus’ staff recognised the need to carry out the project with as little disruption to children, parents and staff as possible and they are delivering this to the highest standards. We’re very much looking forward to seeing the finished project.”
