Bvlgari Hotel Beijing’s Signature Italian Resturant has been Awarded One Michelin-Star by the Michelin Guide Beijing 2020, Presented on 28th November 2019

Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts is extremely proud to announce that Il Ristorante – Niko Romito at Bvlgari Hotel Beijing has been awarded one Michelin-Star during the Michelin Guide presentation ceremony held in Beijing on November 28th 2019.

The Michelin star to Il Ristorante – Niko Romito at Bvlgari Hotel Beijing follows the confirmation of the Michelin Star awarded in September 2019 to Il Ristorante – Niko Romito in Shanghai which gained its first recognition the year before, just three months after the opening of the Bvlgari Hotel.

Il Ristorante – Niko Romito represents a unique collaboration between Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts and the renowned Italian chef patron of 3 Michelin star restaurant Reale in Abruzzo. Currently present in the Bvlgari properties of Dubai, Beijing, Shanghai and Milano, Il Ristorante – Niko Romito showcases a new gastronomic concept that the chef specially designed for Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts. Niko Romito is one of very few Michelin-awarded chefs in Italy to receive this prestigious acknowledgement by the Michelin Guide both in his home country and internationally.

Silvio Ursini, Bvlgari Group Executive Vice President, stated: ‘We are delighted by this recognition by the revered Michelin Guide, which has awarded not only the skills of our team in Beijing, but also the innovative partnership between the Bvlgari brand and Niko Romito, with whom we share the same philosophy and approach to luxury hospitality.”

Chef Niko Romito, echoing the excitement for this prestigious result, said: “This is an extraordinary result for the entire group that rewards the work we are doing here in Beijing and in China, but most importantly it is the acknowledgement and the consolidation of the global project that we started with Bvlgari in 2017 to bring the authentic Italian cuisine worldwide. The Michelin star of Il Ristorante – Niko Romito in Shanghai, just a few months after the opening, together with the one that from today shines on Il Ristorante – Niko Romito in Beijing, testimony that the Italian cuisine fascinates and surprises at all latitudes. This is my greatest satisfaction and I say this as a man and as a cook profoundly Italian”.

The special menu designed by the Chef himself is based on his philosophy of simplicity, synthesis, and a quest for the quintessence of flavour. It establishes a true “canon” of contemporary Italian cuisine that expresses the culture, elegance and vitality of ‘Made in Italy’ to the maximum. Starting from traditional recipes, the ending point of the menu is a punctual yet updated philological reinterpretation of Italian heritage that is streamlined and essential.

The resident Executive Chef at Bvlgari Hotel Beijing is Marco Veneruso, who has been at the helm of the kitchen at Bvlgari Hotel Beijing since 2018. Before moving to China Chef Veneruso dedicated his life to study and perfect the cuisine of his homeland, working with some of the most talented Michelin-starred chefs in Italy.

The collaboration between Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts and Niko Romito started 2 years ago in occasion of the opening of the Bvlgari Hotel Beijing on the 27th September 2017.

With this award, the Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts collection counts now a total of 4 Michelin stars gained by its restaurants in Beijing, in Shanghai, with both Il Ristorante – Niko Romito and Bao Li Xuan, and in Tokyo with Il Ristorante – Luca Fantin.
