The Mill

The latest development from Catterson Wood, The Mill is a stunning collection of six two-bedroom apartments and two luxury penthouses in St Helier.

Completed earlier this year and conveniently located on its own private road with surrounding countryside providing the perfect backdrop, The Mill sets a new benchmark for luxury living in the area. Each apartment has been created with quality at their heart and classically designed contemporary interiors. All units come with two undercover parking spaces, a lift to all floors, large balconies or terraces and large open plan living spaces.

The site was originally purchased by Catterson Wood in 2015 with planning permission in place for three townhouses. However, it was decided that this didn’t make the most of the sites potential so the company went back to the drawing board to secure permission for eight homes.

With work now complete, PREMIER CONSTRUCTION CHANNEL ISLANDS caught up with Catterson Wood Managing Director, Phil Wood:

“It’s completely finished now and we’ve definitely achieved what we set out to do. With everything that we do, we try to run quality throughout. From internal block work walls and concrete floors to the quality of the finishes, it’s turned out just how we wanted it to.

“For two bedroom apartments they are hugely spacious at over 1000 sq ft each. The kitchens are beautiful with Miele appliances and stone worktops.

“The property is on its own private road but it was quite a tight, linear site. The main challenge was site access for the delivery of materials. Luckily we had a very understanding head teacher at the primary school next door who allowed us to park a crane when the children weren’t in school.”

Luxury and peace of mind are offered through vast open plan living areas, large private balconies and thoughtfully designed classic contemporary interiors are the hallmark of the apartments. Each apartment features lift access to all floors, en-suite master bedrooms, two undercover parking spaces, separate utility rooms and the highest quality fixtures and fittings.

Kitchens feature luxurious stone work surfaces and British-made Mackintosh furniture, alongside contemporary matt finish limestone doors and discreet brushed stainless steel handles. With clever storage solutions, large peninsulas or islands and a range of high quality Miele appliances, these kitchens are the perfect place to cook, relax and entertain.

Penthouse residents can take a private lift directly into the hallway, slide open the floor to ceiling windows, sit back and relax high amongst the trees on their very own 41 square metre private terrace. With two en-suite bedrooms and extensive living areas, the penthouses at The Mill really are the last word in luxury apartment living on the outskirts of St Helier.

The project’s main contractor was Houze Construction, with MAC Architectural Services the lead architect.

The Mill well and truly has the countryside on its doorstep and a number of St Helier hotspots are within walking distance. Supermarkets, restaurants, a spa and fitness facilities are all easily accessible. A regular bus service is also available for travel into central St Helier.

The Mill is the latest venture for Catterson Wood and follows on from the hugely successful Haute Pierre development. The company was founded with the simple aim of creating truly bespoke homes and work with local tradesmen and designers to ensure quality is maintained throughout.
