A little over a year ago it burst onto the hospitality scene and today, Silversands Grenada continues to provide a high benchmark for global luxury travel.
Sleek and modern in its design, the spectacular resort and residence project provides a refined yet unpretentious luxury experience radiating with the warmth and originality of true Grenadian life. With 43 suites and nine residential villas, Silversands Grenada is anchored by a 100-meter infinity pool – the longest in the Caribbean.
The modern-inspired resort’s striking minimalist design puts Grenada’s enthralling landscape at the focus, enticing guests to explore the island and forge a deeper connection to one the Caribbean’s last untapped hideaways. A member of Leading Hotels of the World, the resort offers fine-tuned service, luxury accommodations, exceptional dining, five-star amenities and authentic Grenadian experiences that create a true sense of place for guests.
Since its completion the project has been nominated for, and the recipient of, a number of prestigious awards. Most recently, this included recognition at the International Property Awards 2019:
- Hotel Interiors category for the Caribbean region
- Five Star winner of the Hotel Interiors category, Caribbean region
- Winner of the Hotel Interiors category, the Americas region
The studio AW2 run by Reda Amalou and Stéphanie Ledoux designed the resort’s architecture and interiors. Reflecting on this project, the company said:
“The project was to set a new benchmark in the guest luxury resort experience in Grenada. The client wanted the resort’s aesthetic to blend authenticity, nature, luxury, and modernity. These are the pivotal elements – or the key words – that have driven our design in order to give the guest the best – and truest – possible lifestyle and luxury experience in the Caribbean.
“The guest experience was primordial and the layout has been organised to showcase the stunning sea views, while ensuring the utmost degree of privacy. The interior design was to be both sleek and modern, offering a refined yet unpretentious luxury experience.
“With the arrangement on the site we created a very strong sense of arrival with a courtyard and reception that leads onto the main terrace, which then opens onto a unique 100-metre swimming pool that unfolds towards the sea creating an incredible perspective onto the bay. This main feature provides a unique guest experience both in terms of landscape concept and living experience.
“All the exterior spaces are very important to our design as they add another level of interpretation of modernity with its gardens, courtyards and water features. The terraces, the day bed areas and pools are all designed as part of the architecture itself. View lines are organised, spaces are arranged and places for enjoying the surroundings are integrated, all in such a way as to offer the best possible discovery of the site, the hotel and luxury.
“It is an honour to be recognised by the International Property Awards as the architect and interior designer of one of the best worldwide resorts of the year. Thank you!”
A focus on community and culture flows through the menus at Silversands Grenada, along with global influence. The resort includes two distinct dining venues: The Grenadian Grill – a casual beach club-style poolside lunch and dinner restaurant serving casual fare, including a selection of authentic Grenadian dishes; and Asiatique, an Asian-influenced dinner venue showcasing Grenada’s wild abundance of local ingredients and spices.
A cigar and rum bar, Puro, entices guests for nightcaps and conversation over moonlit views.
With an open-air, feet in the sand ambiance, The Grenadian Grill offers beachfront dining with refined yet authentic island cuisine, including fresh line-caught seafood, local produce and organic grass-fed beef prepared in Josper ovens.
The casual, sun-soaked venue also includes an impressive wine list featuring more than 100 varietals from around the world, including a range of unique rosés. When night falls, the 62-seat restaurant transitions to a more sophisticated experience, including exquisite fresh seafood, small plates, and a raw bar, all designed to encourage sharing and mingling.
Open daily for dinner, Asiatique serves Asian-influenced cuisine with a focus on Thai flavours and crudos created from ingredients abundant on Grenada, including kefir lime, ginger and holy basil. With soaring high ceilings housing the strong design within, the sleek restaurant overlooks the pool and sea beyond.
The Spa by Silversands
