Plot 14 – Peachman Way
Plot 14 – Peachman Way is set to become the new home for Norwich based Norwich Instrument Services (NIS) ltd as they have set their sights on expansion with the construction of new facilities on Broadland Business Park.
The company completed the purchase of the two acre plot, Plot 14, in early 2019 and the construction of a 35,000sq. ft. headquarters premises commenced shortly after. Completion of the project is due in April 2020 with the company’s 40 employees set to be based at the new facility.
Works have seen contractors NIS and architect, quantity surveyor and project manager Steve Medler of Steve Medler Ltd; complete a new build steel frame over three floors which have been internally fitted out to form offices and workshops.
The main steel frame of the development has been clad with insulated panels and then internally fitted out with office partitioning and vinyl and carpet flooring. 50kw of solar panels have also been installed and heating of the site is by ground source heat pumps via 22 number 120m deep wells.
Commenting on the project, Steve Medler said: “Being involved from the initial design with the client Steve Cockburn and then procuring the works from start to finish has been very rewarding for me.”
James Allen, partner at Broadland Business Park’s joint agents, Roche Chartered Surveyors previously commented: “NIS is an excellent independent Norwich business working in a niche sector. They have grown from just six to 40 employees and have been seeking new premises to continue their expansion programme.
“Their choice of Broadland Business Park was influenced by the prestigious address, superb location adjacent to the A47 and A1270 Broadland Northway and the very wide range of facilities for staff, including café, local shops, car parking, foot and cycle paths, public transport and mature landscaped environment that the Park affords. These on-site facilities reflect the critical mass which Broadland Business Park has, with over one million sq. ft. of occupied commercial floor space. Plot 14 has now provided NIS with a serviced freehold site at the right cost.”
NIS specialises in utility instrumentation and plant, primarily for the electricity supply industry and associated contractors. Primarily being a repair and calibration house, NIS are dedicated to servicing equipment and being able to advise and supply new on merits of the equipment, rather than just cost.
