The Sinclair

A historic art deco icon meets cutting edge luxury at The Sinclair, a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel. The new Sinclair awakens the majesty of its landmark building in downtown Fort Worth to anchor Sundance Square as a preeminent luxury destination.

The highly-anticipated hotel opened its doors in the heart of downtown Fort Worth last autumn. Just steps from Sundance Square, the city’s hotspot for entertainment, dining, shopping and residential, The Sinclair serves as an anchor for top destinations such as Bass Performance Hall, The Sid Richardson Museum and Fort Worth Convention Centre.

Originally home to the Sinclair Oil Company in the 1930s, The Sinclair has been restaged as a modern icon and the city’s first-ever smart hotel. Beginning in 2015, renowned design firm, Dash Design, in partnership with Merriman Anderson Architects, thoughtfully restored and redesigned the property to retain the building’s signature “ZigZag Moderne” structural styling.

Championing Autograph Collection Hotels’ ‘exactly like nothing else’ mantra, The Sinclair expertly blends historic Art Deco architecture with high-tech features, opening as one of the most tech-forward and efficient hotels in the country. The guestrooms offer innovative amenities such as Kohler DTV+ Digital Showers, Savvy Electric Touchscreen Mirrors that can order your room service and custom LG 8K Wallpaper TVs. Guests can expect a “uniquely you” experience with the In-Room Network Presence Sensing technology, which automates and customizes the in-room experience including lighting, shades, locks and mirrors.

The interiors, guest rooms and corridors were restored to represent the property’s original art deco style with deep blue and rich brown hues. The finished hotel eloquently couples the Art Deco style of the Gilded Age with contemporary, cutting-edge technology in a refined, yet rugged style.

The Sinclair now features a range of 164 deco pop, loft style rooms and suites, as well as a luxurious two-storey penthouse. Each guestroom is fitted with custom-made Italian furniture and boasts intricately layered textures and patterns of materials such as leather, brass, wood, marble, ceramic and glass.

The rooms are The Spectacular, which houses two guests, Black Gold, which is for four guests and has motion sensing technology, The Baron, also for four guests, fit with ample room for work and play. The Tycoon and The Penthouse are luxurious Suites, all fitted with the cutting edge technology that The Sinclair boasts.

The property itself has emerged as the world’s first battery-powered hotel; It has replaced a traditional diesel generator and backup power source with a lithium ion battery pack, the LG ESS. The Sinclair also offers an in-house Podcast Booth to guests and the public for resident and on-the-go recording.

As for dining, Down-home Texas steak and seafood gets elevated at The Sinclair’s restaurant and rooftop dining concept. Boasting an urban chic ambiance, with rich colours and innovative lighting, the newest restaurant, bar, and lounge in downtown Fort Worth promises an unforgettable dining experience, with bold flavours, fresh ingredients, and the culinary guidance of artisan butchers and chefs blending to craft memorable menus.

The Wicked bar serves inspired steak, fish, and traditional American dishes in a historic space, while deep emerald marble accents, rich woods, and innovative bird light panels set an intimate tone perfect for conversation and making connections, whilst The Wicked Butcher is a modern Fort Worth steakhouse that embraces the swanky, art deco character of The Sinclair Hotel’s architecture and the vibrant and cosmopolitan heart of the city.

The Rooftop Bar on the other hand, gives off a different feel.  You can watch the bustling downtown Fort Worth and Sundance Square below. Mix and mingle over artfully crafted small plates, fresh-shucked oysters, cocktails, and desserts on the 17th floor rooftop terrace, offering panoramic views of the Fort Worth cityscape.
