Lotus Property, owners of Northern Ireland’s premier designer outlet, The Boulevard, has signed one of the UK’s most iconic brands to join the scheme in the run up to Christmas.

Molton Brown will set up shop in September as a temporary pop-up with the option to extend lease; taking a 1075 sq ft unit until January 2021, offering luxury Bath, Body and Home products.

This latest signing comes on the back of reports of a strong trading outlook for The Boulevard in the six weeks since reopening back in June, with footfall up by an average of 15% compared to the same time last year.

Major anchor tenants have reported outperforming many of the strongest UK schemes, with feedback showing Northern Ireland is consistently performing better than the rest of the UK. Brands such as Beauty Outlet, GAP, Mountain Warehouse, Denby, Asics and Nike are seeing sales increases between 10.5% and 124.6%.

Alastair Coulson, Managing Director of Lotus Property said: “Since reopening, the feedback we’re getting from tenants as to how well their stores have been performing across their brands’ portfolios has been extremely encouraging.

“Molton Brown is an iconic brand that we know complements our existing tenant base and matches perfectly with our shopper demographic. The signing is testament to the success of the scheme and our ongoing investment in it.

“We invested heavily in our post-Covid environment and successfully executed a clear strategy for welcoming shoppers back to the scheme in a safe and welcoming way. The past six weeks of trading have shown this has been effective. We are confident that our approach will continue to attract shoppers for our tenants, including the latest member of The Boulevard family, Molton Brown. This exciting development will not only benefit the scheme and its shoppers, but is also incredibly encouraging for the overall outlook of retail in Northern Ireland.”
