Seasoned hotelier Simon Drake joins The Other House as General Manager

In his new role, Simon will oversee the launch of The Other House – the new lifestyle brand of Residents’ Clubs launching in South Kensington in Spring 2022, and then Covent Garden the following year. Simon will lead property operations, business development, revenue management and all Food & Beverage outlets, positioning The Other House as the new destination for Londoners and international guests alike.

With considerable London experience Drake was most recently General Manager at The Mandrake, firmly establishing the property as a top London hotel. Previous roles include General Manager at the iconic Randolph in Oxford and Hotel Manager at Conrad London following time working in Bermuda.

Naomi Heaton, Chief Executive of The Other House, says, “Simon is full of drive, energy and enthusiasm, with a huge personality and complete commitment to the guest experience. This will be a perfect fit with our bold, ground breaking and inspiring brand of Residents’ Clubs. His experience will be invaluable in establishing The Other House as a market leader in contemporary London accommodation and welcoming this new chapter of hospitality.”

Passionate about creating exceptional hospitality concepts, Drake joins The Other House at an exciting time heading up the team’s opening of the two company owned properties. He comments, “I am thrilled to be joining The Other House team being part of a new era of hospitality embracing slow travel and any length stays with sustainability, technology and memorable experiences. I look forward to steering the success of this new brand.”

The Other House is the new lifestyle brand of Residents’ Clubs launching its first residents’ club in South Kensington in Spring 2022. Blurring the lines to create a new cutting-edge type of accommodation, The Other House will disrupt the traditional sectors of hotels, serviced apartments and private rentals, positioning itself as a second home for its guests – their other house – for as long as they are in town. It will become the place to be for residents who know what they want, seeking style and experiences to remember, without a hefty price tag.
