The British Swimming Pool Federation (BSPF)

The British Swimming Pool Federation (BSPF) comprises a collection of associations all working together to strengthen the market when it comes to wet installations. Formed in 1999, BSPF is managed by a board of representatives and with a unified coherent voice the association has a strong dialogue with the government and relevant organisations.

BSPF brings together a number of UK bodies which represent contractors, manufacturers, distributors and retailers of swimming pools, spas, saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs. Members of BSPF include The British and Irish Spa and Hot Tub Association (BISHTA), The Swimming Pool and Allied Trades Association (SPATA), The Swimming Teachers Association (STA) and SPATEX, the annual industry trade exhibition.

As a member of BSPF, BISHTA promotes hot tub standards, which highlights safety alongside enjoyment and value for money. BISHTA members follow strict guidelines in spa and hot tub safety and trading practices, and have expert personnel who are trained in water hygiene and treatment.

BISHTA Managing Director, Chris Hayes, said:

“The standards and training set by our Association are arguably the best in the world. So when you make your purchase, buy with confidence from a BISHTA member.”

As an industry watchdog, BISHTA sets standards and host annual awards to showcase their members, which continue to highlight the best practices in the industry.”

BISTHA member, Riviera Hot Tubs Ltd specialise in the supply and installation of traditional cedar wood barrel-style indoor and outdoor hot tubs and saunas. The company has won a number of awards over the years, including two Gold Awards this year, one for a domestic project under the value of £10,000 and the second for a project valued over £10,000.
